Hey everyone! Recently I’ve been building this mechanic shop as a spawn location in my game and though I like how it’s looking, I know there’s definitely a lot of things I can do better! If you have any building tips, strategies, critiques or references you’d like to share I’d love to hear them. One of my main goals is that I want it to look cluttered and messy to a degree or just generally more decorated.
Here’s what it looks like: (I know it’s a little big compared to the player but it’s a certain aesthetic I’m going for.)
Did you intend for a cartoony or realistic look?
Just my IRL opinion but except for the lifts the entire floor should be flat otherwise it’s a tripping hazard.
You should check your scale against a Robloxian figure while building. Your bench tops are at head height so they wouldn’t be usable. Same with overhead cabinets that are unreachable without a tall ladder.
feels like too much blank space in the middle
I’m thinking of having a more cartoony look. I like the style of the default building tools in Roblox but I don’t know exactly how to emphasize a cartoony look.
Yea I was feeling that a bit too, I want it to be like a cluttered mess in a sort of way! Anything you’d recommend putting around the middle?
Is the character supposed to be that small, or do you plan on fixing the scaling in a future update?
It definitely has a cartoon-like feel to it. Simple designs on items, big fat simple tires, and the colours.
But my god, the scale of items compared to a Robloxian and each other!!!
It is yea, after building the area I’m going to scale it up and you’re going to be a tiny person in a big mechanic shop.
