Looking For Devs!

About Me

Hello! I am a builder looking to build a team for an upcoming game. I have slight experience as I have been part of several unfinished projects 3 years ago(Unfinished as I was the only active member after 2 weeks or so). I have quit for a while as it was hard trying to find an active team, but I want to get back into things and have even resumed building within the last few weeks. Point is, I am attempting to build a new development team with a scripter, modeler, gui, and gfx artist.

The Team
@Username - Scripter
@Username - Gui
@Taken - Modeler
@Taken - Builder

About The Game

The game will be an RPG. Simple enough as I want a level system as well as different dungeons with different mobs and even rarities of weapons and armor to collect. Similar to Guest Quest although I want to make a more complex map and all. I would also like implementing a clan system at some point and maybe even pets if possible.

About The Job

~Scripter
-level system
-loot system (drops sword, amor, etc… a percentage aswell so it’s not 100% gonna drop everytime/ also exp and gold or whatever currency we decide on)
-codes
-weapon damage
-teleportation between dungeons
-health
-currency

~Gui
-custom health bar/ level bar
-shop gui/ inventory gui
-overhead gui showing other players ranks/ clans (if we do clans)

~Modeling
-makes the weapons/ armor (armor not necessary as we can use catalog items but, weapons are wanted)

Expectations

I expect some type of experience as it will be hard to create a game with none. However, I am not expecting a lot. I just want to see that you know what you are doing and that no free models are being used. This does not mean you have had been part of a project before, but more so that you are capable of it. That is why I will need some kind of reference when you apply. I also expect that everyone will contribute at least every other day for about one or more hours for each of those days. (I understand if you have anything going on like family or holidays so there will be exceptions unless it’s too frequent.) I also want to get the game running in about two months from now if possible. If ready any earlier great. If any later that is ok too. Two months is not a deadline! Lastly, to apply you must be 14 or older.

Payment

Now this is probably going to be the frustrating part for most of you. I do not have the money or robux to pay everyone. That means payment will be done through group funds that the game generates. That is IF the game generates any sort of income. My point is that it is not definite that anyone will get anything out of this project except for some more experience. Now if the game somehow pops off, of course i will pay you all through group funds and we can discuss percentages as we continue. I know this will keep many people from joining, but think of it as building experience. Finding future projects may be easier as you can reference this game.

Contact Me

To get into contact with me simply reply or add my discord. From there I will just ask a few simple questions and we can go from there. I will also reference some of my work so you can then decide if this project will be worth it to you.

I’m not interested in filling these roles, however I do want to give feedback as in some sections of the post do not seem attracting.

About the Job;
You don’t exactly have to list everything that the Devs will be making, just a short clear demonstration of what’s expected. Showing a specific list will not help the reader with their confidence, as they may be rather new but have experience outside of Roblox.

Expectations;
Similar to my previous suggestion, it doesn’t have to be lengthy and specific. As members of the Developer Forum, most of us will already understand the Expectations of frequent posts like this. As being a Founder of a project, it’s your role to be the confident leader and trust your Developers through whatever means.

Payment;
Don’t begin the Project if you lack the funding’s, because stating that you do will appear VERY unattractive to Developers. Likely no one will want to work for you if you can’t provide them a starting benefit. Because a majority of us want guaranteed backup payment if a project fails, or want full proof you have the amount to pay Devs willing to work with you. What I suggest is stating how much you truly have, and how you’ll distribute it to your Developers. You can earn Robux through trading, selling non-free models, GFX, Animations, etc.

I hope this helps :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you! I will take this into consideration next time. I agree with you in all but one thing. I personally have a hard time finding a development team that will let me join because of my lack of experience. Don’t get me wrong I have worked on some things here and there 3 years ago but I do not have access to most of those builds anymore and now I am starting out again. But because I do not have many references it seems very unprofessional. So I thought the best way to put myself out there is to bring up a development team with people who share the common issue. That issue being lack of experience. So as I agree that it is unattractive to say that there is a lack of fundings, I also believe this will help other people gain the experience they need to grow. Thank you for the reply and I appreciate the response.
