Looking for feedback & community for my game!

Introduction
Hello! Me and my partner, @ChasonStuff, are working on a game together. You probably haven’t heard of it (It only has 250 visits :frowning:), but it’s called Battle Burst, and it’s currently being developed on my group, SwiftStorm Studios.I’m trying to grow the game’s community. The group only has about 52 members, 5 of which are actually active, and sponsors haven’t worked. I spent 2,000 robux on yesterday alone for all platforms and got a grand total of 2 concurrent players… at it’s peak. I’m really losing motivation to continue the project and the group as a whole, so I turn to the DevForum as a glimmer of hope.

What’s the game about?
Glad you asked! It’s a game that combines ranged and melee weapons in head-to-head battles. It doesn’t give either an advantage either; guns take time to reload and swords get a slight speed boost! So you can enjoy the game no matter what play style you prefer.

Is it updated?
Yes! It’s updated regularly, about every 2 weeks, with maps, weapons, and all kinds of new content!

Where can i find it?

Thank you!

Hello,
Please do not advertise on the devforum as it’s against the rules. Please abide by the rules!

I’m also aware that 2,000 robux isn’t a lot to most people, but to a developer who just spent all of his life’s savings buying 10,000 robux, yes, it is a lot.

Sounds like a fun game! I’ll go give it a try :). Although to be fair if you advertise your game and people saw the icon, I doubt it’d get many visitors since it doesn’t look that good, no offense. Try remaking a new one and adding effects and lighting, I’m sure you’ll get more people to play :).

I’m also working on games too lol, and I spent 2k on one of my games and it didn’t get that many visits either :(.
And I also don’t have 100k+ R$

Does this fall under advertising? I bet it does. I’m sorry. I’m desperate, I’ve tried so hard to get this game off the ground, put hours and hours and all of my savings into it, nothing. I’m just… demotivated. I don’t know what else to do. :frowning:

I don’t want to abandon the project, I’ve already invested… everything… into it.

Well, I don’t know how to use blender, and I only have a basic knowledge of Affinity Designer… to me, that’s my best work. :frowning:

Well before advertisements I would have hired someone to make a logo for your game. The game itself would look more appealing if the logo looked better. The characters in the logo look stiff and unnatural.
Best of luck, Cats767_99

Wow I just saw the thumbnails, they look great :D. Try taking close ups of the maps though, it doesn’t look as good from a distance.

I could try to make you one if you’d like :). Or teach you how to make better ones.

How? On a budget as low as mine? 5K? I’m pretty sure everyone charges like… 13K robux. 15K robux. How do you get that rich???

One thing that I’m sure will attract more visits is a better game icon. In all honestly, and being blunt here, it doesn’t look good. Whoever made it needs practice, to say the least. I would recommend commissioning a GFX artist to make you a game icon or an artist to draw you one!

I’ve had gfx designers make logos for me at only 1K…

I made it… To quote myself:

Yes, I know it looks bad, but it’s the best that I can do right now.

I just put characters in those poses in roblox studio, took a screenshot, imported it, and edited the background out… then added text and a gradient and stuff. It literally took me more than 3 hours.

Checked out the game, and I’m currently playing it with a few others, and the maps look very nice :). The UI and a few other aspects like the lobby, could use some work though. Other then that the coding and maps are great :).

Thank you! That means a lot

Oh also, the leaderboard seems to be glitched, we all have 1M cash, 21 levels and 51 wins atuomatically.

I’ll try to support you by visiting your game every so often. If I enjoy it, I might play it as my main, favourite game. Good luck!

Here is what I would do to make that icon:

  1. In studio, take a screenshot of a good place to make an icon. Something like this, for example, but a little less boring
    Screenshot 2021-04-07 215459

  2. Import the Roblox characters your want to the scene, and position them. Give them their weapons. Don’t make the poses stiff, adjust and bend the limbs as needed. You can use Blender if you want, but Studio is fine too.

  3. Take a screenshot from a good angle of the characters “fighting” and import the screenshot to Photopea or another image editor(Photopea is free by the way). Now put on your text and whatever layovers you want, like that “Update 3” thing in the corner. Save that image and you’re good to go.

No fancy stuff required, just an image editor and Studio. It will probably take 30 minutes to an hour to do this; it’s easy enough. I really do hope this helps.
