Looking for feedback on chat box placement

Hi friends,

So recently I’ve been struggling with figuring out chat box placement. Initially the biggest issue was that when players would join, the chat box would cover up the player stats bar, and it would also make it impossible to click on the core buttons (the play one at the top on the left side)

I decided to shift it over to the right corner instead, but I really don’t know what would be optimal here.

For larger viewports it seems okay, although I may need to adjust the scale and offset positions of the frames so they are a bit further under the chat input bar. On smaller screens the chat box overlaps the core frames more noticeably.

Would appreciate any advice. Thanks so much

Disable the chat bar when the main Ui’s are open?

That’s something I figured people would do, but is it more typical to expect a better fitting layout for the chat box specifically to not have to do that?

tbh you bring up the gui, disable the chat. seems pretty easy, no real reason to be chatting while in the ui no?

Entry point does a good job with their chat placement. I would say with your scenario, the best thing to do is build your interface around the chat bar, or otherwise disable it until out of the menu - as it may get in the way (think about how colorful and distracting the chat would be for your design)
