Context
Bullrush is a Roblox recreation of the popular recess game, where runners try to make it to the finish line without being tagged by the Bull. I believe it is quite popular in the US, UK, and Australia, however I don’t really know exactly how well-known it is. This game adds a slight twist on that concepts, adding cosmetics and skills players can use to gain an advantage in the game.
Statistics
As for the game and statistics itself, I have ran a couple of ads for the game, which were not huge ads, but the results were quite negative. I’ll try to give an average of all the statistics shown on the “Overview” page, as the average in the statistics tab also accounts for when ads weren’t running.
Engagement: ~3-5 minutes
Day 1 Retention: ~2-3%
Day 7 Retention: ~0.2%
Payer Conversion Rate: ~0.05-0.2%
Average Revenue Per Paying Users: ~50 Robux
Qualifying Play Through Rate: N/A (no home recommendations yet)
It’s clear that something isn’t working, and here are my theories as to why (not confident in them, just theories):
- The game genre is unseen before, causing players to get confused or making them not bothered to try it out.
- There usually aren’t players online, and since it is a multiplayer game, players may not want to join the game, or leave very quickly because of it.
- They view the game as genuinely boring.
What have I tried?
- Making players able to join a round in progress so they don’t need to wait.
- Adding a very basic tutorial to improve onboarding.
- Pretty much filled all the empty spaces where playtime is unentertaining.
None of these have worked however, and only small improvements have been made to the analytics.
Feedback
I need direct and honest feedback, and be harsh if needed. I’ve tried everything I could think of, but maybe there’s just something missing in the game that larger games have, or it is just genuinely boring to play.
It’s 2+ players by the way, so you may need to bring in an alt or friend.
All feedback is greatly appreciated, and I would love it if you added feedback tailored towards improving those analytics specifically.
