Looking for Feedback Regarding My New Game, Color Climb

Hello everyone!

I’ll keep this post quite simple. I am looking for feedback regarding my most recent game release, Color Climb. We are currently searching for ways to increase player retention, so your help would be greatly appreciated.

Increase the time a few seconds more when being told to find a certain color. Overall, great game!

some insight:

  • graphically, the game looks great. the ui and low poly graphics do well, but i’d add more varity in terms of rocks and trees.
  • sometimes when i click the buttons on the left side of the screen nothing happens, and i need to click them again

gameplay:

  • its fine, but its also boring. the active events do well to spice something up, but it needs more flavor. more events could add a bigger twist.
  • try adding ways you can change the obby entirely. add a time limit like in the game Tower of Hell, where the obby is changed so that the level design is more unique. the spiral could be changed, or we could be going off to an entirely new area.
  • every so often maybe you could change the brick colors?
  • during the “color drop” event, you needed to find a blue color. some areas don’t have blue for awhile, which can immediately end someone’s run, and have them leave the game in anger, with a low chance of returning. this is slightly unfair, but also adds a reason to change the colors from time to time.
  • when i played i noticed alot of people were doing fine early, but they ended up leaving after awhile or falling. maybe you could add a checkpoint or a way for “forgiveness,” since most people don’t want to pay a 50R$ tax.
