I’ve been working on this entrance for a homestore and I’m pretty stuck; something seems off and I’m not sure what it is. I’ve tried adding some lights and whatnot but it doesn’t seem to fit the environment, so if anyone has ideas on what to change or add that would be amazing!
I figure that the background is lacking, there is not enough fill than the walls. Try a low-detailed placement of trees outside the accessible area of the map.
a few shrubs, maybe some tall grass, rocks?
More background. Fill everything up. The more you add to increase detail without actually altering the main build itself will help make it look much better. Add more trees, not only inside but outside the walls. One small detail you can add is fog. Don’t forget to add bushes also along with tall grass and stuff. (Depends on what you think is suitable)
To add on the primary entrance, I would recommend a little more detail, like a few extra benches, maybe some plants, shrubs, small signs, stuff like that.
Also, if you play around with the lighting and atmosphere of the game, it can make your builds look better.
Try to include a few vegetation props throughout the area, just keep in mind you don’t want to clutter the area with a bunch of repetitive objects switch things up. Add a few vines hanging on the walls to cover most of the empty background.
This mainly regards you don’t need a bunch of props for entrance areas if your worried about the background ‘rocks’ cover it with some vines or small little ferns and bushes, and the smaller sized trees ect. As it would make it more than better you can basically experiment more with adding plants and other supply details that work for you.
Try adding some more trees , bushes and that stuff. Also, make the trees different sizes and height to make it look more realistic than repetitive.
