Hereā€™s Aeroā€™s (mine) Top Picks:

  1. Full Script Editor
    Honestly, this update is something I am looking forward to. I have worked countless times with the API for VS Code (regarding language support) and I can say that LSP is quite reliable. With this change, scripting becomes faster and more at home.
  2. Procedural Skies
    Weather was something I have been planning for MONTHS in my game (Rodblogan Warfare). However, cloud cover and rain was the trickiest. This, however, eliminates one of the issues. I donā€™t just want it for that reason, but to also add more depth to the game Iā€™ve been working on for 2 years regarding the environment.
  3. Creator Talent Hub
    This is something I am excited about. I am happy to see that devs get a place to showcase what they could have worked on for months, maybe even years. Thatā€™s all I have to say.
  4. Cloud Scripts
    This is something that Iā€™ve wanted since it first appeared in 2018. Iā€™ve delayed making leaderboards to wait on this, as well as matchmaking. Only leaderboards went in my game as months went by regarding this, and I finally cracked. Matchmaking, however, isnā€™t going in until this comes out. My one request to Roblox Staff: PLEASE donā€™t forget about this.

For the Custom Materials, will we be able to apply Normal and Specular maps to Texture and Decal objects as well?

I was scared for my life with this Rthro crap, but it seems like Roblox is steamrolling in that direction and may actually remove R6 one day.

Was wondering about universe scripts myselfā€¦ Maybe itā€™ll be in the new Game Explorer that IS on their roadmap.

Ability to extend built-in materials with custom textures.

Performant procedural clouds.

Future is Bright v3

Extends PBR calculations to other light objects.

Enhanced Terrain Vegetation

Enables Custom Materials for terrain vegetation.

Parallel Lua

Enables Lua scripts to run on separate hardware threads.

Theyā€™ve expressed in the past (in relation to luau) that they would be releasing Luau (I believe is the correct term here?) so it can be used outside of studio. (Also Arseny, it looks like itā€™s going to happen :smirk:)

I havenā€™t seen this question anywhere (correct me if Iā€™m wrong) with the custom materials will it be uploaded under decals or have a new section? I hope it will have its own section so we donā€™t have to sort through stuff.

Hadnā€™t seen that! Hoping the LSP does get released to us though, if not open source.

ā€¦Though I suppose we may be better off making our own community made LSP at some point. Unsure with that regard.

This year is looking mighty mighty bright, especially FiB v3, Atmospheric Fog and Procedural Skies. Curious to ask, will we ever see Particle Shadows implemented into Roblox?
