I am excited for all of the planned features :slight_smile: I wonder how they are going to tackle the multi-threading because lua doesn’t support it natively.

Super excited for Large Object Stores, Shared Memory (Previously known as Ephermial Data Stores), and Cloud Scripts (replacing Universe Scripts).

Everything here is pretty exciting and I hope that most of it can get done this year. I’m happy to see Roblox release so many quality updates while still focusing on quality first though. Take your time and do it right, you’re killing it.

I am so excited for this! Anything that resembles FMOD Studio would be a godsend. ESPECIALLY FOR ENGINE SOUNDS.

Amazing! I see a lot of really exciting features!

Large object stores, automatic translation, script versioning, shared memory… :eyes:

This roadmap is genuinely exciting, with massive features I could have only dreamed of back in ~2010. I’m eager to see how ROBLOX will evolve by 2021.

This roadmap gives me high hopes for the platform, and shows how much the team is investing into improving the platform.

I’m particularly excited for all the IDE enhancements, and it’s great to see ROBLOX develop the plugin system; I know i personally shy away from plugins due to not being able to track what they do (i.e is it sending my place and scripts to the plugin developer’s DB via http?).

I think the plugin system will be a huge boost to the platform; useful “libraries” of tools can really streamline the development process.

Respect to the talented team at ROBLOX. I’m sure you guys can make this happen!

Was really hoping this would be the year that we got to see Roblox Studio on the iPad Pro. Would be extremely cool to edit on the go, especially considering the massive amount of power the iPad Pro’s processor has.

Is this going to be translated by trusted translators or free translators (e.g google)? And will those games will be translated despite of their will?

Layered 3D Clothing

First launch of 3D clothing that can be layered on body or other 3D clothing items.

Just wondering how will it work? I hope all the updates will be good!

Wow! This has to be one of the best Roblox roadmaps I’ve seen. Personally, I’m excited for Cloud Scripts, Shared Memory & custom textures.

Although, I’d wish to see cross-server communication - unless this is what Shared Memory is for.

I’d also like to see a WebSocket client for faster remote server communication, this will be useful for an upcoming project I’m working on.

This year looks absolutely fantastic compared to the past two, I really can’t wait for the new updates to come. I am very excited to see what developers can do with these new features! :smile:

Oh boy this years roadmap is even better then the last here are some things i am hyped for.

Enhanced Audio Search - This is good for saving Audio Memory and finding the perfect song.

Atmospheric Fog - Fog As always been not the greatest i love when you guys added the rounded fog thing but this fog is even better.

Custom Materials - I have been waiting for this, this will open up so many options for developers to enhance their game graphically. There is alot of graphic stuff in the years roadmap… i love it.

Dynamic Texture Resolution - I am confused about this if i am on a higher end PC and the developer adds a 200X200 texture is that going to upscale for me and downscale for lower end devices?

Improved Terrain Level-of-Detail & Blending - Always looking forward to terrain updates.

Mesh Deformation - YES YES YES

Expressive Output Window - Thanks now i can find errors much more easier.

Procedural Skies - I Have been waiting so long for this a finally are getting it!!

Future is Bright v3 - NO WAY…sorry, this one i cant wait for

Enhanced Terrain Vegetation - Custom Materials for grass?? This could open up some options but still a very good update.
