Lots and lots of cities

Introducing the creatively named “Earth simulator”

By help of a database, this contains over 10 000 settlements from over 193 countries, ranging in size from the world’s largest metropolises to just your average town of 5 000.

Damn Tokyo

So isolated

It also comes with a nuke launcher because why not (and because idk what to do with this now)

Really cool, keyboard controls are awkward though. Should use the same control scheme as google earth/maps with the mouse!

Very close. Is missing St David’s city in Wales. But petty things aside, very cool!
(Maybe include key bindings?)

If you’re planning to turn this into a proper game, it would be awesome if you used a much higher resolution texture for the planet.

Roblox has a decal size limit, which stretched across the whole planet doesn’t look very good, but you could export the sphere into a program like Blender, split it into small sectors and have a unique texture for each of those sectors. This would allow you to have multiple smaller decals across the planet instead of one stretched out decal.

Just a small thing, I think it would be really cool if the nukes had the player who launched them’s name on them, so you can keep track of who’s nuking where. Otherwise this is very cool, I will definitely check back in on this in a few weeks to see where it goes.

This would be pretty interesting for a RISK type game. I’m curious to see where you’re going to take this. A lot of cool possibilities I think.

Being able to zoom in would be cool, too. Wanna be able to see my city :))))

Hey look, my city is on there.

And now my dreams have come true

Side Note: Unsure where you got your figured. Olean is around 15k, not 21.

Also I got this really big nuke on NYC.

How do you make the nukes bigger? :open_mouth:

Curious as to which database this was from  Checking out my country’s data and i don’t really think that’s accurate.

this is really cool though!

Oh boy

-Tech: Idk whenever

-Alex: I’ll see what i can do

-vsnry: Noted, so i worked and managed to have a higher quality map by using 2 meshes, even with the pain of fixing the seams. Its not HD but its better

-daireb: That depends on what i will do with this thing.

-Guest: Maybe i could make Plague Inc, “Roblox edition”

-Saturn: I thought of it, but the thought of having to mark out land and sea areas pain me.

-Emerald: You can zoom in tho, to a nice blob of light.

-Dev0mar: I used the basic version of this database: World Cities Database | Simplemaps.com

-George: I tested that out and it wasn’t the nuke getting bigger, but rather, getting closer to the camera since i didnt bother to delete the rockets when they go boom. That should be fixed now. Also made the nukes look just a tad better.
