Small Christmas Map for my client
The trees look too repetitive in my opinion. You could try adding variation, and bushes. Right now the only vegetation I see is trees.
Yeah I agree it is good but it could use some variation in the vegetation. Perhaps you could also add a glow to the streetlamps?
Can’t really tell much from the forced perspective, so it’s hard to judge just from this.
This isn’t how the player will see it, is it?
The snowflakes obscure the player’s vision a good amount, they might be better in a smaller size.
The trees are definitely repetitive, but that’s usually okay, it’s just that there isn’t much else to draw the player’s attention away from them… they’re enclosing the main part of the map which makes it very tight and difficult to appreciate the main portion of the map. There is a large tree positioned directly on top of every major portion of the map aside from the lone gingerbread man.
Are the lanterns giving off light or what purpose do they serve? They seem sort of out of place.
There may be room for more theme expression if the intent of the map is to lean into the theme; there are gingerbread items and candy canes and a very lightly decorated christmas tree with a snowman, but that’s all I can see.
Are there presents? Do you have fairy lights in the traditional Christmas color theme? How about a sled, or reindeer? Some sort of lighting effect to throw more color onto the trees would probably go a long way.
Beyond that, the general lighting could be more effectively used, I can’t see what exactly the settings are but it looks like a pretty high brightness with very little contrast. Fiddle around with the lighting some more, especially saturation and contrast.
This map looks good. The trees are all the same though, it looks bland/boring with them. The map is also too white and bright.
