Hi, so i’m trying to make a medival style house/building but I wonder how you make this kind of roof tiles, does anyone have a technique for it or suggestions to make it look like this?
can you screenshot a bigger picture or more pictures to see
Sandly I can’t this is the only image I got for referance, well in addition to this but it does not help much:
I’m pretty sure all it is, it’s basically just a few parts, and then on Blender they change some of the sizes of each side to give it to “low poly” look.
Do you think Is it possible to make it on studios without the use of blender?
The tiles that you have described are called ‘pan tiles.’ If it were me, I would not use parts to add so much fine detail to the roofs of the houses (that are above eye level and so difficult to see) - I would recommend searching ‘pan tiles’ on Google and find a really good texture that I would apply to the roof instead. It would be less work and (more importantly) use less parts, so reduce lag. Apart from you, who else is going to cast anything more than a casual glance to the structure of the roof?
Even a simple texture can produce a satisfactory result. (The image below was taken in Roblox. There are only textures applied to the roof. Although this roof has simple grey slates, you can see for yourself that it produces a reasonable result.)
Anyway, good luck with your build. I will look forward to seeing what you have achieved.
Well, it depends, Perhaps you could try and experiment with unions, but that could take you quite a while. If you can make 1 good tile, duplicate that and then just use that for the others.
Yeah I think I will go for that. Thanks!
Well done on the production of your model. It was good to see how you tackled this project. Thank you for sharing the image.
I’ve seen many medieval roofs in real life, but none of them had clay roof.
Clay roof style was created in Rennaisance period, when pepole started building brick houses…
