Low Poly Tree | Feedback

Information

Hey there, I am looking for feedback on the low poly tree that I have created recently. This is my first mesh creation so I understand that there will be some issues with it. Some of the issues that I am aware of are…

  • The mesh looks kind of flat
  • Could’ve used a different background-color

Looking forward to reading your replies!

Honestly, this is pretty impressive considering it is your first mesh, aside from the issues that you are already aware of, I would like to suggest…

  • Coloring the mesh, I would suggest using pastel colors
  • Trying to render the mesh from a different angle to make it look more 3D
  • Try using more polygons on the branches and the trunk

Looks awesome, thought I suggest this:

  • When coloring mesh, try using light colors. Not too light.
    Although, nice tree!

It is definitely flat in many places. I mean, it resembles a tree, but a tree isn’t always 2D (I cannot tell with the background color or the way that you have positioned the camera). I would suggest making the bottom of the truck wider and then getting shorter throughout the trunk towards the top. Make the branches go on multiple sides, rather than one side. This will give it more of a ‘3D’ feel. You should always look at it from your player’s perspective. If they look at it from the way you show in this image, they will think that it is a good-looking tree, but from the side view the “tree” starts to fade away.
Some of the branches are in weird angles that gravity would not agree with. Low-poly should resemble some-sort of a real life building/model.
It is always a great idea to refer to references. You can look up a tree on google or find games on Roblox that inspire you.
As for coloring, I think a basic brown color would be great for the branches and trunk while a nice and deep green color for the leaves.
Everything that I have said here is completely based upon my opinion and my first looks at this tree. You should not feel disheartened and should not take anything I say to word. This is only to help you get better with 3D modeling.
I would like to congratulate you for creating your first 3D model. This can be a big step in your journey throughout developing for Roblox and becoming part of the modeling community. I remember my first model (it was also a tree, what a coincidence) and this is definitely 100 times better than it. Never give up on your gifted talent.
Sincerly,

It looks like a good start for a low poly tree Looks great, it would look better if you added some texture to it, I’ll go with the material such as Smooth plastic and Use a kind of Forest green color of the leaves.

As for my feedback I’ll suggest you to change the scale of the leaves and the form of it in general, so like each leaf looks unique and not as identical as all the other ones, you’ve created so you can make the tree have some more detail to it my simple suggestion to make it even better I think you should try making a variety of foliage on the tree, so it doesn’t look like you copied and pasted the same leaves onto the top of the tree. Maybe try resizing and rotating the leaves to look better in my opinion.

Great job since this is your very first creation in blender.

Well, it looks very simple, but you did a very good job in designing that tree! I see you have applied braches to make its appearance more pleasing rather than making it square.
Though if your going to add a color for that tree, it would be recommendable if you could make the leaf color orange, in my opinion, so its appearance would looks even more pleasing. I hope you apply your tree, as a design for cafe, or if your making a forest, nature game.

It looks simple and easy, but did a good job on this.
It does not have too many details, for being a first time render, you’ve done a good job.

All I can suggest is that you add some more branches and some color, maybe add a small branch further down.

Otherwise looks great keep it up!

It’s ok, there are some issues I found:
-The trunk is very deformed.
-The leaves look the same for each other, just with a bit of deformation, try to use different shapes, and maybe make the leaves bigger.
-The tree in general looks a bit crushed.

If you fix that I might give a better rate at this
