Low stats across the board on my simulator game, and low ccu

Hi, Im the developer for Balloon Pop Simulator. I’ve noticed my stats, especially day 1 retention, has been very low. The Ccu drops very fast (granted its only been out for around 4-5 days) and when advertised, it immediately dropped from 200+ peak players down to 20. The game consistently drops to 0 players all the time as well.

We have ran ads again (me and my friend), and the same thing happens. Small spike, but dies out instantly. What could be the issue? (Ive also spent around 25k robux in total on ads)

Game: (Release + UPD!) Balloon Pop Simulator - Roblox

first, good job on the average session time. because Qualified Play is 3 mins.
check if your ads CTR (>3%) and detail page CTR (>50%).

have you set up the Onboarding funnel with analytics service? see if they have finished all the tasks you want them to do. if they have not finished some task and leave, then you have to improve the new comer tutorial. although i think it is quite clear now, i might give them guidance beam for them to walk to the tasks, rather than teleporting them. so we have a sense of where things are.

if they have finished all initial tasks, when do they leave? did they beat the “Strong Noob” (lv 2) or “Clown” (lv 3)? since there seems nothing else we can do besides challenging higher npcs, the popping of the balloon and battle with npc are the main sources of satisfaction in the game. i don’t see a different in balloon popping patterns, the swing shuriken animations seems the same. and the npc battle also the same.

given the current game stage, may i suggest you try make those balloons spawn in different places, or even the npcs walks around. my theory would be: if player walk and explore themselves, it might be more engaging, and they will come back for more. Just a theory, try it on the starting island for a few days, if it doesn’t work you can revert the changes.

one observation for npc battle.
there is a large gap between two npc levels.
if we are on par with an npc, the battle is ok. not too exciting though.
if we are under the npc, the battle is losing quite quickly. and it seems clicking faster doesn’t make it push back the bar faster
if we are more pow than the npc, the battle is almost just 1 or 2 clicks and ended. not exciting at all

i feel that in the ‘pvp’ the shuriken is actually much more interesting
just a small ‘bug’ its shooting direction seems to lag behind of my own client side direction.
you may consider shoot out that shuriken in the Balloon station to make the popping more exciting.

but i still feel that the npc battle affects more of the retention.

Thank you for the feedback, i was also thinking that as well. People usually leave after the npc battle. Any ideas on how i could make it more interesting?

You should aim to get higher statistics for monetization and retention, this will help you get steady players.
