Lower Tax Rates for different BC levels

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too much for members of TBC and OBC to have the 30% tax rate.

I’m suggesting a 10% reduced tax rate for members of TBC and OBC.
For example;

TBC has a 20% tax rate
OBC has a 10% tax rate

This would benefit the members of these builders clubs, as they’d be getting “more for their money”.

I don’t think that’s a good idea. Of course everyone likes to get more money, but the marketplace fee is meant to sink R$ out of the economy between transactions. Reducing it for accounts with higher BC tiers (which probably account for a large portion, if not the majority, of such transactions) kind of goes against its purpose of being a R$ sink.

Moreover, this would basically force developers to always have OBC or they lose out of a chunk of their income (30% tax vs 10% tax).

Yeah, but to be honest, there isn’t many benefits for TBC and OBC apart from more robux per day and the groups they can get.

If there are enough TBC/OBC purchases (which I assume there are or else they would have been discontinued), then the benefits would appear to be plenty.

They have the ability to create more games, create and join more groups, they get daily login-bonuses, the use of the trade system, and the ability to sell clothing and other assets. OBC also enables you to devex. Roblox is a corporation who needs to make money, the tax is there for a reason.

the fee is made to help inflation (for roblox, to maintain the value of robux, so they can sell less robux for more USD)

the users who buy OBC/etc are the users who

  1. spend millions on purchasing items, (de)circulate millions of robux
  2. if they’re not earning millions, they’re the ones who are more willing to buy robux from roblox

obviously, if they have less robux, they’re more likely to buy robux from roblox.

I would disagree, BC is a huge step from NBC, for obvious reasons I don’t really have to explain

however TBC/OBC are more targeted towards content creators who need active places, groups etc, not really for the average consumer unless they want the minor benefits such as extra robux everyday.

I think it’s fine as it is, and even with the recent changes to things like DevEx I seriously doubt they would go around changing the fee. There’s quite a bit of more explanations as to why it is like this in this thread but as Echo mentioned people still purchase those tiers even though it may ‘not seem to have more benefits’.

Even other companies such as Twitch and their tipping feature ‘Cheering’ which uses a virtual currency called ‘Bits’ that you can purchase which you can donate to streamers but includes a ~30% fee, so it’s not like it’s just Roblox sets a fee without having gone through any thought process of getting a balance between not enough and too much.

Tbh the fee is fine.

If it were to lower, i’d say for only OBC, and even then, only to 25% not to 10%

I think it’s fine the way it is, like many people have been saying I think that the main reason for the 30% is to help control the economy.

lol the only reason I got OBC in the first place was for the 100 active slots, and then they started DevEx, so that’s a plus, but I agree that it seems like all of the memberships have essentially the same benefits, but is that really a bad thing…?

Doesn’t this already affect a large amount of developers? You’ll have to get some kind of membership just to get 70% of your earnings. Otherwise have fun with just 10% of your earnings

If you work through a group, you always get 30% market fee, regardless of membership status.

Its not the great idea.

No support. This wouldn’t benefit the economy in a positive way. As previously stated, Roblox needs to make money itself.
