macOS Terminal (BETA)

macOS Terminal (BETA)

Current Version: PATerminal-1.0~20
Engineers: @Opuqide

Introducing macOS Terminal, a verbose version of macOS interaction inside Roblox. Similar to how Linux and its derivatives work (before you install the GUI), you would have to communicate with your computer using its Terminal. Well, I’m bringing that to macOS inside Roblox.

How’d This Happen?

Well, I got inspired after checking out Apple’s pccvre and vrevm tools on my MacBook, simulating a PCC server. That got me the idea to build an emulator designed to run macOS code, like you’re viewing the serial logs from the computer, to give that genuine feeling.

The XNU kernel, launchd, amfid, and other macOS essentials are currently a work in progress. Settings, customization, and personalization to your terminal will also be worked on in the future, allowing for more possibilities and fun with your machines.

Also, you can go into DFU mode by running ] jump_dfu 0x59812. You’ll be kicked from iBoot and into iBSS (iBootSecondStage), responsible for DFU mode and serves as the stage-1 bootstrapper for Upgrade Mode (before iBEC is uploaded, bootstrapped, and executed).

so do you communicate with the server thru this terminal when you join the game ?

That’s technically what happens. The Virtual Mac is on the server side, and I got that client side script sending server requests and bouncing them back to the client.

whats the bar at the top for bro
im confused on what this project is supposed to be
is it a:

  1. recreation of the macOS terminal
    OR
  2. is it some kind of macOS server that an actual mac can connect to or something?

(Also I wouldn’t write “Apple Inc” in the terminal. You never know when Apple could be behind your back ready to content delete your game for using their trademark.)

Well, it’s really a recreation of the macOS terminal, only that it features the boot and kernel logs. I’ll implement tabs that allow you to switch between XNU & syslogd. It’s supposed to be like a Linux machine.

very coool, i’d love to try it out

You can give it a try, silly!!! macOS Terminal - Roblox

When you press “1” from keyboard, is a message sent to terminal? cuz i did it couple times but the terminal is on the same page which is :

Whoops! I should’ve put that in earlier ;w; + i meant to make it say 2 for iBootStage2, not 1!! (crazy me @w@)

I’m almost done putting up some fixes and a new update log should be sent out!

@BelievesHD I just published the update and the release notes.
