This video took me many hours to edit so I hope you like it. It’s a devlog about my upcoming horror game.
It looks really good, both the game and devlog. I really liked the lobby especially the train.
oh, i remember this dev log! i watched it a while back, and was a bit disappointed when i thought it ended. good to see you back though!
This is one of the best creations I have ever seen since in a while! I’m not even kidding.
You have a well-dedicated team I would like to hear more about this!
Happy to hear you’ve watched the other devlogs and liked them!
Feedback:
-
The music is too loud compared to your voice. Often it is hard to hear what you are saying.
-
I’d also add in-video some subtitles occasionally when making an important statement. Having subtitles for everything you say would be a lot of work.
-
The pacing of the video, in some areas, feels slow to me at 1x speed. Some parts feel more ‘smooth’ or flow nicer when played at 1.25x speed. If you haven’t I’d go through the video at different speeds to see if you like a faster pace and where.
-
At 3:23 and other parts of the video where there are ‘title cards’, I’d personally stick to one font, but I also think it’s a nice artistic choice.
-
At 3:38, I think there is too much emphasis and pause when you say “a_nerd”. That is an opportunity to ‘speed-up’ the video or smooth it out with a j-cut. There are other parts of the video that might have too much of a pause or emphasis, but that was one of the more extreme examples.
-
The door opening animations at ~4:30 in the video, I think they take too long. Maybe it’s good for the ‘game feel’, but not so much the ‘video feel’. That is also subjective though.
-
The fade out of the background music showing off the walking sound effect, at ~5:00, was an awesome touch. I could really understand the addition in action.
-
The thanking bit at the end of the video was great, but after the pacing fell off a bit, and then it picked back up. It’s a great ending to the video and felt, mostly, smooth.
I understand how much goes into these things. My last devlog took ~8 hours to edit, not including the script, recording voice lines, and well, making the game itself. Anyhow, the progress from the first devlog is insane and I hope the feedback helps.
Thanks for the feedback this will really help improve my other devlogs and its also nice to see a fellow roblox devlog youtuber!
Not sure if the backpack and loot UI are placeholders but I’d change them up a bit to better fit with the horror theme of the game. Seen the first devlog and compared to that it looks amazing now!
thanks for the feedback I might do that
oh my god are you dantdm
aside from that, very interesting. i’d like to see more devlogs and games like this
Thanks, alvinblox now DanTDM lol
