[MAJOR] Auto Text Capture (studio + in-game) CANNOT capture any strings for recently created experiences

Auto Text Capture does not capture any strings in experiences created in the last few months. All my other projects have never had this problem. I have even uploaded my whole game file to an old experience ID and it then captured the strings just fine.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Create new place
  2. Put a textlabel with some text in a screengui.
  3. Publish as new experience.
  4. Turn on auto text capture and play solo
  5. Turn it off and you will receive this message “TextScraper found no new text that wasn’t already in a table. No new table or new entries were generated.”

Intended behavior:
It should capture the text contains on the textlabel you added.

Here is the place I reproduced it:

I also have it not working for multiple new experiences i’ve created in an effort to make this work.

Hi there, thanks for reporting the bug. We’ve rolled out a fix for this - can you please try the studio scraper again and see if it’s working for you now?

Yeah! It works now! Does this fix apply to in-game auto capture too?

The in-game auto capture kicks in when the experience meets certain criteria (eg playtime/ place visits). The experience you linked might not be enrolled yet because it currently has 0 playtime and visits. If you would to get strings scraped and translated ASAP, I would suggest using the text scraper for now.

Would you be able to check on my current project? Definitely meeting the requirements and the only text captured was from the scrapper in studio i did 12 hours ago. No new text since.

Yes, we will look into this too. Thanks for sharing the experience link.

Quick update - we’ve fixed the bug in the offline scraping pipeline and strings should start being updated in the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience while we were looking into this issue and sorry for the inconvenience caused!
