In its defence I feel like it’s supposed to stand out amongst the others to make it easier to tell who is a genuine admin, and thus deter people from being tricked by fake admins etc.
The only change I would make is to make the logo white instead of red so that it feels slightly more consistent among the other badges which also use white for their icons. I think the dark background (the shield) would still be enough to constitute making it stand out.
I added some color, but it didn’t look the best. It’s okay, but it doesn’t really follow the theme.
All of the other badges have white as their “icon” with the border being the base color. The shield in the admin badge is the same as the OBC badge, which is mostly gray.
I think the two of the requirements we have regarding this badge is that the logo can’t be altered and it has to be red. Do you guys have any suggestions with these constraints?
disclaimer: I don’t have the final say regarding this badge.
What’s the point of having a modern logo then? One of the main arguments for this logo was that it can be altered easily to fit in a lot of different situations, but here you are telling us (by example) that we shouldn’t alter the logo? Isn’t that kind of backwards?
It’s a shame it has to be red and unmodified. I understand why, but looks a bit too clinical compared to the aesthetics of the other badges. TigerCode’s white on red is good because it fits the other badge’s aesthetics, but there’s not really a way to do that with the unmodified logo due to its sharp edges.
edit: It’s a real shame that it has to be the red logo, because making the white one look good is easier than making the red one do so.
