I’m only asking for one feature and that is using quotes in the search bar.
As most of you know (and probably some don’t) you can put quotes around items in a search to find results that have that exact phrase.
Searching without quotes will give you any combination of the words and allows exclusions.
Searching with quotes will only give you the exact phrase typed.
This would be super helpful in finding good clothes, because right now it’s too hard with the huge amounts of clothes.
Also while we’re at it can you get rid or find a fix for this? It’s just as bad because I can’t find the right clothing because these “tags” are literally everywhere and seem to override the titles.
Easy solution would to have description terms come after titles in terms of relevancy, so if it can’t find a match for the title of the item it then searches descriptions.
because right now this is what i want to do to the roblox catalog search:

[/quote]
What was your original search term? Can you give me the catalog link? In the last 2 months someone improved the search algorithm so that it doesn’t take descriptions into account as much as other factors. When I do catalog searches like “gloves” or “vest” I get very relevant results.
What I’d really like is to be able to search with other means than just the search bar - for example, if you have an audio or an image, you can search for similar content on Google - perhaps I’m looking for a metal wire sound, not sounding like it’s from a horror game, but since I can’t easily find it by entering something in the search bar, perhaps it’s just uploaded as… say, elevator sound. Something to make it easier to find the best content, really.
The catalog search has problems, yes.
It seems to assign boolean OR logic to every term. So if you’re trying to type the specific name of a hat, you’ll end up with all the hats that have ANY ONE of those words in the title. This is nightmarish. It should use AND logic.
If I’m looking for the Red Domino hat, I go to the catalog and type “Red Domino” This is what I get.. It’s searched for all the hats with “Red” in the title. The Red Domino hat doesn’t even show up until near the end of the 2nd page.
But if I go and search for “domino”: This is what I get. All the hats with “Domino” in their title/desc.
“Ok,” you say. “So search for ‘Domino Red’” “Domino Red”
:?
Would it be possible to at least add an exact match function or something to the search? I’m pretty sure that if I type in the exact name of an item, it’s ridiculous to have to look through a bunch of other hats before that item comes up.
Or, consider implementing the use of quotation marks for an exact search phrase.
Because when I search for Sparkle Time Fedoras, I don’t want to have to look through 198 hats to find them. I want the Sparkle Time Fedora collection to come up.
