I have argued this for years now… Its useless to even try. Roblox is letting this forum die like the original roblox forum and they have no desire to fix it.
People were asking for this back in 2018. I haven’t been very active the past few years, but even then, the quality was way down compared to how the forums were founded originally. The problem is these are the only forums or official community go-to ROBLOX has ever had since the normal forums got taken down, so you have a lot of people that would be asking very basic questions on the old script helper’s forum here, or just outright spam that would go in Roblox Talk years ago. So, by getting rid of access to this forum to these people, you’re depriving the community of a larger learning resource.
I agree. However, I wasn’t planning to affect anyone in that regard. While the DevForum is a good learning resource, the parts that are not (like #development-discussion) should be restricted.
If #development-discussion restricted to regulars, then they already have #lounge, so that would be pointless
The difference is that the regular rank is unobtainable.
It should be. We don’t need some random roblox kid come here just to become a regular and immediately start breaking the rules
Then the DevForum would die out of inactivity.
How would making the regular rank unobtainable would die out of inactivity? if you want to report bugs and request features, contact @Bug-Support?
And yet we had zflash happening
My own personal fix idea, outside of simply replacing the DET with people who’d actually enforce the rules, would just be opening lounge to a similar trust level that development discussion has, so all the spam posts can go in there and development discussion can in turn become more, well, development discussion-y.
Could have sworn I’ve seen posts like this in the past in all honesty.
Honestly, I don’t know what I could suggest to save this forum. From my limited knowledge, it probably started going downhill just before I joined this forum, when Post Approval was removed in September 2020 (although I could have sworn I’ve gone through some sort of approval system in the past).
I’ve seen some truly awful stuff on this forum, but I feel like the forum needs to be open somehow. Not everyone is a troll. Some people here actually want to genuinely develop stuff. Restricting access to this forum isn’t really a solution tbh.
You did lol. Stop trying to hide the fact. you probably already deleted all of the evidence.
if your referring to the masterworks post, no its not deleted, and no its not chatgpt, i typed out the first half and then pasted the second half (because they always end up the same)
If you’re referring to literally anything else idk how you could ever infer that but thats just me
stop gaslighting yourself bro.
oh so you typed out “Hello @insertusernamehere, Im sorry that you’re experiencing these issues…” blah blah… even ChatGPT Detection had a 100% accurecy
I’ve also noticed an increase in people who have no clue what they’re talking about giving flat out wrong advice or answers.
Sounds like ChatGPT, or plain “like farming”. This is why we need more people like @Dede_4242 on the forum.
Why? just hire more mods to filter out garbage. Why does a forum based around anybody being able to create content need to restrict a board about content creation? There should be a public forum like development discussion for the purpose of spitballing game design and other ideas to each other
I dont even remember posting that bro, but yes i would have if i did
There could be, but a change of standards does not prevent people from breaking the rules. Plus, this is more of a general issue that cannot be solved with just one new category. Some things just don’t belong on the DevForum at all.
I agree with most of your points, but the last one isn’t that thought out because you can be skilled in many trades.
