Maki Salon Handbook

Maki Salon is a salon based in Kyoto, Japan which allows for unique avatar customization, and collaborative designing, along with various runway themes to compete in. With the help of our qualified employees, you can receive an endless amount of amenities, or even take reign by styling yourself or others.

In this handbook, you will be able to find various information about our group which will allow you to remain informed about our internal operations. While not every piece of information is provided in this handbook, it should provide you with a general foundation on everything needed to succeed. Shall you have any questions not provided here, feel free to ask one of our helpful management members in-game, in our communications server, or on the group wall.

Training Times

While optional, training sessions allow you to become a certified staff member and can provide benefits such as receiving a verified badge in-game and one extra XP and coin per styling task. Becoming a certified staff member is required in order to become a Staff Assistant. To become certified, you will need to attend and pass one of our scheduled training sessions.

Listed below, you can find a list of our training times shown in your local time zone. When attending a training session, arrive at least 20 minutes early. The times listed below are when the training center becomes locked, so the earlier you arrive, the better. While waiting at the training center, remain seated until you are provided further instructions and be prepared to learn.

Scheduled Shifts

As an employee, there are seven scheduled shifts that take place throughout the day with management members present throughout the servers. During scheduled shifts, lasting one hour from when they start, employees will receive double XP and coins for all styling tasks. This allows for employees to rank up faster than ever before!

Staff Information

Ever wondered what it would be like to work for Maki Salon? In the information provided below, you’ll see the process to become part of our team and how to become a successful staff member.

In order to become a staff member, it’s as easy as joining the salon and taking the in-game application shown on the main menu. In the application, it’ll ask you various questions such as picking the sentence with the correct grammar, how to deal with conflicts, and more that help us see if you’re fit for the team.

Once you pass the application, you will then be ranked as a Hairstylist! Please note that while not required, you can also join the Maki Salon group in order to have your rank in the group as well. As a Hairstylist, you can now create appointments for clients and provide them with a makeover of their choice! Listed below, you can find a list of all the stations throughout the salon and how to get the most out of using it on your clients.

Station	Description
Hairstyling	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with a fresh new haircut and even change the color of the hair the stylist provides.
Makeup	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with a new face! From dozens of selections to choose from, provide your client with something that matches the entire look.
Nails	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with colorful nails! Before painting your client's nails, make sure you ask your client to enable Nail Visibility in the settings menu.
Outfit Redesign	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with an entirely new outfit! While in the dressing room, you'll have the ability to change their shirt, pants, and add any clothing or accessories.
Tanning	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with a tan. Before changing their skin tone, make sure it is appropriate to do so and always seek permission.
Massage	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client with a massage. In the massage room, you have the option between choosing a back massage or a pedicure; choose whichever your client would prefer.
Sauna	When requested, a stylist is able to provide their client a massage in our sauna. In the sauna, instruct your client to sit where the pedestals are located to be able to provide them a foot massage.

While working, you will notice that you accumulate XP. XP is the way for you to advance in your career and rank up all the way to Cosmetologist. Each rank (Hairstylist, Makeup Artist, Aesthetician, Beautician, and Cosmetologist) each have their own requirements to reach them. For more details on how to rank up, look below.

Hairstylist: pass your in-game application
Makeup Artist: 100 XP or by certification
Aesthetician: 250 XP
Beautician: 500 XP
Cosmetologist: 1000 XP or by gamepass

To become certified, you can either attend one of our scheduled training sessions and pass or purchase the game pass to skip attending a training session. For details on how to rank up from Cosmetologist, refer to the Cosmetologist Promotion Guide located further down in the handbook.

Rank Descriptions

At Maki Salon, ranks are divided into four sections: staff ranks, middle ranks, high ranks, and leadership ranks. In the following rank descriptions below, it will go over the middle ranks, high ranks, and leadership ranks and their responsibilities. While not every detail of each rank is covered, it provides a general overview of their responsibilities.

Middle Ranks

Staff Assistant	48	As the introductory management rank, Staff Assistants are responsible for attending training sessions and supervising the salon. As a new Staff Assistant, they will be required to undergo a trial process performed by the recruitment subdivision.
Salon Specialist	36	In addition to the responsibilities above, Salon Specialists have the ability to host training sessions at one of our scheduled training times.
Assistant Manager	24	In addition to the responsibilities above, Assistant Managers have the ability to host shifts at the salon. They also have the ability to moderate the group wall and delete any unnecessary comments.
General Manager	12	In addition to the responsibilities above, General Managers have the ability to join either the relations or recruitment subdivision. They will remain in this subdivision for the rest of their Maki Salon career.
	Relations	For General Managers who join relations, they will be responsible for managing community-hosted events and tasked with creating our monthly magazines. In addition, they are also responsible for planning future social media posts to help promote the group on various platforms.
	Recruitment	For General Managers who join recruitment, they will be responsible for managing the Cosmetologist promotion process and promoting qualified Cosmetologists to Staff Assistant.

High Ranks

Executive Assistant	10	As the introductory high rank, Executive Assistants are responsible for managing staff promotions and demotions, appeals, server moderation, and their subdivision work.
	Relations	Executive Assistants in relations are responsible for managing our alliances and any alliance-affiliated events.
	Recruitment	Executive Assistants in recruitment are responsible for managing the Staff Assistant trial process and ensuring our new Staff Assistants are adequately prepared.
Board of Executives	4	In addition to the responsibilities above, Board of Executives are now responsible for co-leading their designated subdivision and providing activity reports on all subdivision members.
	Relations	Board of Executives in relations are responsible for helping lead the subdivision and have a final say in alliance matters. In addition, they are also responsible for managing the social media accounts and ensuring content is being posted.
	Recruitment	Board of Executives in recruitment are responsible for helping lead the subdivision and have a final say in Cosmetologist promotion matters. In addition, they are also responsible for managing the trial processes that occur and ensuring subdivision members are performing their tasks adequately.
Executive Director	2	In addition to the responsibilities above, Executive Directors act as the lead of their designated subdivision and are responsible for providing the necessary activity reports to the Vice Presidents.
	Relations	The Executive Director of relations is responsible for ensuring the subdivision is running smoothly and has the power to overrule votes. In addition, they work closely with the Vice Presidents to provide them with their members' activity and approves changes provided by their co-leads.
	Recruitment	The Executive Director of recruitment is responsible for ensuring the subdivision is running smoothly and has the power to overrule votes. In addition, they work closely with the Vice Presidents to provide them with their members' activity and approves changes provided by their co-leads.

Leadership Ranks

Vice President	2	The Vice Presidents are responsible for ensuring the activity of the high ranks is sufficient and performs activity checks on the performance of each HR. They are also responsible for helping promote and demote high ranks when necessary and act as an overseer in the subdivisions.
President to Owner	1	In addition to the responsibilities above, these ranks act as overseers of the group with their primary responsibility focused on development.

Alliance Information

At Maki Salon, our relations subdivision is responsible for managing and staying in contact with our alliances. Each alliance we have is a group that is unique and supportive in their own way. For information on our alliance application requirements and questions, read below.

Requirements

In order to form an alliance with Maki Salon, your group must first meet the following requirements below. If any of the requirements below are invalid for your group, you are ineligible to apply for a partnership.

Your Roblox group must have 50,000 members. In order to ensure our alliances are of adequate popularity, we require all our alliances to have at least 50,000 members. Exceptions can be made in rare instances.
Your communications server must have 1,000 members. We value popularity in areas outside of the group and want to ensure your communications server is of adequate size. Exceptions can be made in rare instances.
Your game must be consistently active. Your game should have players visiting at all hours and remain consistently active to ensure your games are active.
Your group must have no history of free-ranking or selling ranks with administrative powers. We do not allow alliances who have previously free-ranked others to high positions or sell these positions for Robux. All administrative ranks in your group must be earned.
Your group must be designed around a business roleplay setting. While we appreciate all types of groups, we prefer keeping our alliance list to those involved in a business roleplay setting, such as a restaurant, café, dentist, salon, etc…
Your representatives must be able to communicate with our relations subdivision frequently. As an alliance, we will want to host events and expect a constant stream of communication between the groups so that both sides are informed.
Your group must not be blacklisted. If we have had issues with your group before, it’s likely your group will be blacklisted. For more information on this, feel free to contact a member of our relations subdivision.

Application

If your group meets all of our requirements, you can fill out the following questions below and send it to an Executive Assistant+ in the relations subdivision. While filling the questions out, it’s recommended to make your responses detailed and honest. Please give our relations subdivision up to 7 days to decide if an alliance between your group and ours would work.

Please provide a link to your Roblox group and communications server.
Include a description of your group and its accomplishments or values thus far as an establishment.
Describe your group and how it could benefit our establishment if we formed an alliance.
List three representatives including their Discord and Roblox usernames.

After our relations subdivision reviews your application, you will be informed if your group is accepted or declined. If we decline your alliance application, please refrain from submitting another application for 3 months.

Cosmetologist Promotion Guide

Once you’ve reached Cosmetologist, you now have the ability to be recruited into our management team and become a Staff Assistant. In order to qualify and ensure you’re on the right path, read what is provided below.

Requirements

You must be verified in our community server. If you’re not in our server or not verified, the recruitment subdivision will be unable to find you. If your rank or username is outdated in the server, it’s recommended to run the /update command in #bot-commands.
You must be in the Maki Salon group. While being in the group is not required for staff members due to ranks being game-sided, if you want to become a Staff Assistant, it will be required of you to be ranked as Cosmetologist in the group and in-game.
Your account must pass a safe chat test. If your account is shown as under 13 and has safe chat, you are automatically ineligible to become a Staff Assistant. This test is performed automatically by the recruitment subdivision.
You must be typing in proficient English grammar. While working at the salon, if you’re trying to become a Staff Assistant, you must be typing in proficient English grammar. This allows us to make sure you understand the English language enough to be able to communicate properly.
You must remain consistently active at the salon. The most important part in becoming a Staff Assistant is remaining consistently active at the salon. This allows us to make sure you’re dedicated enough to your position and will remain active once you become a Staff Assistant.

While most candidates meet the requirements shown above, it’s crucial to also make sure you’re remaining respectful and acting as a role model to other staff members around you. Part of the responsibility Staff Assistants have is to be able to resolve conflicts adequately, so make sure you are acting the part.

Additionally, it’s important to note that those in the recruitment subdivision do not appreciate questions asking if they can promote you or any comments that hint towards a promotion. Instead, these comments can and will prevent you from reaching Staff Assistant.
