Currently on Roblox exploiters are a huge problem that Roblox isn’t helping us with. So I had the idea to make a banner that is across multiple games.
How I plan it to work
When a game’s anti-cheat catches a player hacking it will archive them to a database like Google Sheets with HTTPService. Then it will kick them out. After that when the player re-joins HTTPService will look through the spreadsheet and if it finds a hacker it will kick them out again. But the unique idea about my plan is it’s over multiple games. For example if an exploiter is found in Bedwars and then joins Jailbreak they will be banned from Jailbreak as well
I was wondering if you guys think this could be effective and possible. I’m not a great Programmer so this would be a tough task for me but that’s fine. I would love to see support or help from the community for this. Or if anyone has better ideas for this I would love to hear them.
I’ve seen things like this before, my question is what is stopping someone from setting this up in their own game and just adding someone they don’t like then they can just ban whoever in any game that has this
What if bob joined a game that had a terrible anti cheat and bob gets banned by a false positive, poor bob, now bob cant play any games, and bob also just bought some robux on his account, now that money has gone to waste, poor bob his life is ruined now
This seems like a good idea, but poor bob This would be AMAZING for bedwars though, as I see hackers A LOT in that game. Its a shame we cant ip ban people from a game though
This seems pretty easy to do, but it’s probably very hard to get all those groups to work together and use the system. Along with people who are going to break the system by inserting user ids of every person they dislike. (Even with a fee, this will still happen)
These methods of anti cheat are insanely unstable and require a large amount of trust from the people with access to who gets banned.
In theory this sounds great and you could have everyone you want gone, however if this was open source and any game could have it, what’s stopping one of the game owners from simply having a biased view and banning a group of people they simply do not approve of, or targeting players that haven’t done anything wrong, and have a personal disagreement.
Lastly, this already exists, its just a private network, for example the game Spray Paint has this feature.
Just seen a couple comments about adding a fee and some of you lot really think 1000 Robux is worth a ban system that could effect other people’s games, without any form of secuirty other than a 10£ pay wall?
I mean I think that’s the most effective way. If you’re looking for a service where you can set it up so it can only write and not remove, you could use pipedream’s datastores. In my experience, however, pipedream’s datastores are slower than something like trello.
Edit: Something to consider. When banning someone, make the ban message contain a link to an appeal form that you and your staff can accept, not the game devs. Also maybe make like an internal affairs team that looks at the ban appeals and has the ability to temporarily blacklist the game from globally banning people if there’s mass false banning. A way to do this is maybe to use a key system. So every game that uses the system has a unique long key, like “drRstfRXTM-X65Y0nSAjj-hfaDY4Li2G”, which it sends to the datastore service, which, if you use pipedream, you can read values from a different datastore, then, use a custom js script to see if it’s accepted and then if it’s accepted, save it to the datastore. That may be slow though, so it’s probably not an efficient way to do things. One thing you should definitely do though, is if a game is spam banning people, like 1+ person every 5 seconds, automatically blacklist it temporarily.
I still think this should be cross-game moderation system should be restricted to people under 18 on roblox, I dont know how it would be done though, it could be given through dms or something. Also, it should have alt account prevention, like you have to be a month old to play that game.
I do agree with everything said in this post. I feel I could add some security for this. I would add a 2500 robux fee and you would have to dm me through discord and show me why you need it and how you will use it. If I find you are false banning you will be added to the ban list and all the players that you have banned will be un-banned. Additionally I will check the games that are using it and I will go on an alt and see if you are using it properly. If anyone has any objections/suggestion/help please contribute towards this.
