Making your models better using baked lighting (outdated)

Disclaimer: This guide includes the use of Blender and Substance Painter. Substance Painter requires a paid membership. I think that this membership is worth it just because of how powerful the program is.
I hope you enjoy!

In this guide, I will be showing you texturing and modeling techniques to further your skills and knowledge about what is possible within Roblox. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions, I would love to answer all of them.

Have you discovered how to take sharp edges out once imported on roblox?

They should be smooth on bevels.

Apparently flipping green channel on normal map but i havent tried yet.

You can control shading by customizing your auto smooth options in blender or whatever software you happen to be using.

However, due to the fact that you cannot have custom, performant normals in Roblox yet, it’s not possible to remove the hard edge without adding more geometry to the model.

Thanks for this tutorial- I have been trying to recreate this effect for a long time but always ended up creating something bad!

Thanks!

Although I am not a designer, I find this resource really interesting to follow and I love to see how the designing community evolved to such high levels! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
