I’m making a survival game where you survive on and island and explore what lurks in the island, and I want to add a map system.
Please vote on my poll since I don’t know what to do.
- Map (Inventory Map) (must obtain)
- Map (Inventory Map) (Spawn with)
- Mini-map (GUI) (must obtain)
- Mini-map (GUI) (Spawn with)
It depends on if you want the island to be easily navigated or not.
I want the players to explore the island to learn more about it, not just see locations on the map and be curious about them so they travel there.
Then I would spawn on the island with a map
But it kinda feels weird, if the player would to crash onto an unknown island they shouldnt have a map
Then choose to let the player find a map nearby.

Maybe they can start with an empty map, and it fills up when the players explore different locations.
So, like a rip-off of a Minecraft map.
Kind of, but maybe like the whole map is visible but the undiscovered locations are barely visible. The discovered locations could also be named something, such as for example a forest with a certain name.
