Marketplace | Roblox group advertisement & development recruitment/portfolio platform

Weird, try Discord.

We will be making a 2nd login system soon, it will be fully Roblox based.

But the DevForum has 107K MAU, why should we use yours over the DevForum? All your website is(no offense) from the eyes of a recruiter, just a carbon copy of GRP and the DevForum, but with fewer members. You have to follow COPPA so it has the same restrictions as the DevForum(and discord). Please, tell me the pros and cons of your website.

Pros

  • Full markdown support
  • A discord channel group ad channel alternative
  • Simple to use
  • Free
  • You do not have to spend months to make portfolios like you do on the dev forum

Cons

  • Not as many users
  • Not as many developers
  • Does not have the most advanced profile system

Not really a pro as discord and the DevForum both have it.

I suppose people who can’t use discord can see this as a pro.

I think the DevForum and discord, grp, ETC are simple enough. Possibly a pro for beginners.

Most developer recruiting platforms are free.

I created my portfolio in a week, which isn’t very long. The time that takes to make a portfolio depends on the person.

  • Only devforum supports full markdown, not discord

  • It took 3 months for my friend to get on the forum

Have you actually ever used discord?

Yea, I guess that’s true. It took me 3 weeks.

Last time I checked discord does not support headers, dividers, and such. (all markdown features)

Login is roblox based.

We have other advertising methods, and by not everybody has access to devforum is not every can post for him.

It supports base headers, and has most other markdown features.

Besides I trust a well moderated discord server or a officially moderated DevForum more then some random small advertising hub. How do you compare to more then 100K MAU?

Unfortunately, a system cannot cater to a small group of users considering basically all other Roblox developers use Discord. I think using discord OAuth is a great idea as it can prevent people from raiding as they need to have a verified account on a separate, more secure platform. If you are not allowed to use discord you shouldn’t be on this forum (or any other off-site website for that matter). I’m not going to bring this up as it’s been said before many times but the service has every right to restrict sign ups to discord so there is no need to act like a victim in this case.

That’s HTML, not Markdown was thinking of the h and div tags for some reason, not # and — although you can still make headers using h1, h2, … h6 tags.
Discord only supports a subset of Markdown, so not everything though (no clickable text links, tables, etc). But Discourse supports this just fine. So I’m not sure how that is a benefit for your site if Discourse already supports this

Also you should probably keep it Discord-based just for a bit of extra insurance that the users will be 13+. There is no reason to not have Discord in 2021, in my opinion. Saves you implementation work as well.

Okay, ive made it clear we don’t have as many users on our platform. Last time I checked you cannot advertise groups on the devforum…?

Thanka for the feedback

As I’ve said, GRP has more members, was made before you, and has the same concept.

I have no reason to use your’s as looking for developers is better here on the forum and advertising my group is easier in GRP.

Okay, if you don’t want to use the platform don’t use it.

Will do. There seems to be better, safer alternatives out their and you haven’t provided me enough pros to use yours. Still a cool creation I guess, but it has everything the competition has(and less frankly) so there isn’t much incentive to use yours.

Discord and devforum both have this.

Plenty of servers already have this.

Who says that discord and the devforum aren’t ā€œeasy to useā€?

Again, so is dev forum and discord.

I doubt it really takes months to make a portfolio.

  • Discord does not have full markdown support
  • What discord servers have a web-based place to put group ads?
  • I never said they were not simple to use
  • Never said they were not free
  • It took my friend 3 months to get member on devforum

Then why even bring up that your website is easy to use if the others are as well?

Again, why bring it up if there are better, free alternatives just like yours?

What does this really have to do with anything? They could always use discord servers and scripting helpers if they have a problem with game development but don’t have access to the forum.
