Mass Upload of Identical Fake Korblox Bundles Bypassing Moderation

Certain users are abusing the Roblox marketplace by mass-uploading dozens of 1:1 copies of the Korblox legs as bundles, circumventing moderation through sheer volume and appeals abuse. These are not slightly modified duplicates—they are visually identical clones meant to deceive.

This morning, I personally watched nearly 90% of this group’s fake Korblox bundles get deleted by moderation. However, only a few hours later, they were all back online. This strongly implies that an uneducated appeals agent reinstated them. And because they were reinstated once, they’re now immune to moderation and unreportable, leaving no recourse other than submitting this bug report.

Normally, moderation handles recently uploaded fake Korblox bundles quite well—especially those with few favorites. This is thanks to what I can only assume is the team improving their policies in this area after a recent surge in these kinds of bundles. But when a few slip through and get reinstated by clueless appeals agents, they’re effectively whitelisted forever. This highlights how terrible the moderation system is when it comes to reinstated bundles.

There’s two main issues here:

  1. Why are appeals agents approving bundles that are blatant 1:1 copies of Roblox’s most recognizable asset?
  2. Why does a single reinstatement make a bundle immune to future moderation, even when it clearly violates Marketplace policy?

Affected Assets:

These ones are less similar, but fall under the same principle:

Important Note: I’ve been told engineers are working on improving validation in both the Layered Clothing and bundle systems to prevent these kinds of assets from being uploaded in validation. But in the meantime, moderation seriously needs to step up its game. The agents approving these appeals must be disciplined and reminded of the Marketplace Policy they’re supposed to enforce.

If no resolution is given, I might as well file a documentation issue requesting that Roblox remove the line stating user-created items cannot be overly similar to Roblox-made content, because clearly that rule is not being enforced anymore.

Expected behavior

  1. Bundles that closely resemble Korblox—especially those reported here which are nearly identical copies—should be deleted immediately upon detection. These clones blatantly violate marketplace policy and exist solely to mislead buyers.
  2. A successful appeal should not render a bundle immune to future moderation. This is a critical flaw in the current moderation system. From what I’ve observed, other asset types (e.g. clothing, accessories) can be reported again and re-reviewed post-appeal. However, for bundles, once an appeal is accepted, they appear permanently locked from moderation, even if they were reinstated in error. This is likely why we continue to see high-favorite fake bundles remain live—they were appealed once and are now unmoderatable.
  3. Appeals moderators must be retrained on identifying copy assets like these. If training has already occurred, then the moderators who continue to ignore clear policy violations or fail to follow basic enforcement standards should be formally disciplined.

A chunk of these have been deleted. Many remain

The Moderation Team should honestly leave internal notes saying like “Hey, this item is a 1 to 1 copy of this roblox item; (link)”. Or if the item was taken down with AI, that the AI will leave a note on why it thinks it violates the rules if this is possible. This would resolve so many issues

Currently the appeals team seem to accept malicious appeals probably due to no context

This is what happens when the appeal process is only partially reviewed by a human. Makes sense why things are randomly appealed, but at certain times seem to be violative to the Roblox TOS

Thank you for reaching out. We have assigned this to our internal teams for further review.

Thanks a lot, starhiker. I can confirm all of the bundles I reported, apart from the last 2-3 were removed a few hours ago!

Much appreciated. I hope the appeals process can be improved here to where moderators don’t reinstate these items any more, and once a bundle is reinstated, it should be easily re-reportable.

Also, I hope the few remaining bundles can be looked into more closely.

Lastly, I have a few more bundles that should be deleted:

Some headless ones that were also appealed and reinstated incorrectly, and are now immune from moderation due to the same issue:

^ Let me know if another bug report is needed for these ones.

Cheers.

Looks like they are trying to bypass it now……

The idea that current creations—like alien limbs or futuristic arms from 20235—are being unfairly lumped in with older assets such as Korblox legs doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. Modern creations are not merely copies; they’re completely distinct both in style and execution.

For example, consider the alien limbs in question. These are often designed with intricate textures, unique proportions, and a futuristic aesthetic that sets them apart from older Roblox designs. The intention behind these creations is to invoke an entirely different vibe—whether it’s sci-fi, fantasy, or something otherworldly. The design philosophy is markedly different from older items like Korblox legs, which have a more “gothic” or “dark” theme. The shape, color palette, and textures involved in making alien limbs couldn’t be more different from those of Korblox legs.

It doesn’t matter what the bundle is, whether it is a pencil or an alien, they are trying to make a cheap/fake korblox, which is unfair to the people who bought the actual version (even if it is in my opinion a silly thing to purchase).

I understand your point about the unfairness of cheap or fake versions of popular items like Korblox, but it’s important to also consider that creativity shouldn’t be stifled by accusations of copying. Whether it’s a pencil or an alien, new designs can be an expression of innovation. The same can be said about the criticism of seashells—often unfairly scrutinized for being “too simple” or “unoriginal.” But their unique, organic structure has inspired many works of art and design, and they deserve recognition in their own right.

Additionally, we shouldn’t ignore the potential of bundles like Wall-E and ET. Just because these characters are disabled in some way doesn’t mean they should be restricted. Their inclusion as bundles would open the door for more creative possibilities, offering the chance to celebrate classic icons. After all, being disabled doesn’t mean something is less valuable—it just means there’s more room for creativity to shine.

I think these groups should have their UGC access revoked, so they can’t just go on a new account if their old ones are banned.

Instead of focusing on revoking access for groups, maybe the focus should be on making the platform truly inclusive. Disabled users shouldn’t have to fight for their right to participate just because some people are abusing the system. It’s beyond frustrating that this basic level of equity is overlooked in favor of punishing others who might just be trying to engage in the community.

they’re mass uploading, it’s becoming as bad as classic clothing.

Saying it’s “as bad as classic clothing” completely misses the point. Classic clothing should be accessible to everyone—that includes users in wheelchairs, users who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, and anyone who just wants simple, expressive options that don’t rely on bulky or overly complex layers.

Classic clothing has been a foundation for personal expression on the platform for years. Disregarding it because of how some people use it ignores how vital it still is for accessibility, identity, and comfort. Everyone deserves to feel represented—and classic clothing is a part of that.

what does this have to do with anything regarding the original post please enough :sob:

If you’d like, I can put together an analysis for you to break things down more clearly. But I also recommend reading through the replies first—there’s already some context and discussion that might help answer your question about what it’s about. Let me know if you want a deeper dive after that!

theres so much fake korblox copies, must have been the bots accepting them…

Maybe Roblox could fix their moderation bots

Hey! I believe you can consider this bug as resolved now. Any new uploads of Korblox copies are now quickly taken down after a few reports, and it seems almost impossible that any slip through the cracks now that the long-standing ones have been deleted.

Thank you for your efforts here!

Feel free to respond with confirmation, otherwise I’ll mark my own reply as the solution for now.

I’m still seeing them onsale and I’m seeing more so all of a sudden, I’ve reported them a few times however they are still standing, roblox should find a way to make it so when creating bundles, every part of the character needs to be covered, any uncovered marks of the bundle will be flagged before it goes onsale I think that’ll be best.

Feel free to send them here then, just make sure they’re somewhat similar to the official Korblox leg
