I’ve been introducing my dad to Roblox development recently, and when I went to enable a few of my plugins for him, this happened:
There are dozens of plugins with the same name and description as mine that show up first in the search, even though their creator, “PluginCreator” seems to be banned, and the fake plugins always have less than a few installs.
Ideally, I think the “Relevance” sort should give higher weight to popularity over upload date. Also maybe users who are likely banned for mass-uploading fake plugins shouldn’t have their plugins in the sort at all.
Roblox might want to consider doing the same thing they did with “high quality models” (I think that’s what they were called) showing popular legitimate plugins first in search as well as giving them a yellow badge, again like they did with models.
Maybe someone just needed to upload a plugin and hit upload a few too many times? ( Doubt it )
Roblox should create maybe some system for featured plugins or a way to identify the legit plugin made the legit plugin creator to help easily identify the legit one over a spam one
This seems to be the case for not only plugins, but for models, clothing, etc.
There needs to be some sort of system implemented to remove terminated user’s uploaded assets from search results.
I agree, I just cant use the plugins section at all right now, it’s filled with ‘plugin creator’ with at least 2 pages for each plugin. Every time I try to search…
