Massive Error with Group Recurring Payouts related to Private Server Renewal

Reproduction Steps

Browser Information

  • User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/110.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
  • Platform Type: PC
  • Device Type: Computer

How to Reproduce

  • Add a “Recurring Payout” to “User Y” in a group
  • Have “User Z” purchase a private server from a place/experience under that group
  • Then remove the “Recurring Payout” from “User Y”
  • One month later when “User Z” private server renews you will notice the group did not receive the full amount, and “User Y” who previously had the recurring payout still receives Robux

Expected Behavior

Private server renewal revenue should follow the current group Recurring Payouts percentages rather than using the ones when the private server was initially purchased.

Actual Behavior

When User “Y” purchases a private server on a place/experience owned by a group and said group has recurring payouts setup, that revenue will be split between all of the accounts with the recurring payout.

However, if the recurring payout is removed from one, or all, of the accounts when User "Y"s private server automatically renews a month later it is still paying out based on the recurring payouts that were in place when User “Y” first purchased the private server initially, not the current recurring payouts at the time of their renewal.

In the screenshot below you can see that one “VIP Server” transaction gave 10 Robux and has the timer next to it indicating it’s pending/is a new transaction. However, further down you will notice another “VIP Server” transaction that gave 6 Robux and doesn’t have a timer. The reason this is the case is because VIP/Private Server renewals seem to not go through pending, but the reason why the Robux is 6 instead of 10 is that at the time that the user “Jayden” purchased their VIP/Private server, we had a 40% Recurring Payout setup on the group, now we have 0% Recurring Payouts. However, since we don’t have that anymore any new users who purchase VIP/Private servers will be counted as a new transaction and their Robux will be paid out according to current Recurring Payouts.

This is a massive issue because my group used to have only 60% of the payouts, 40% were setup as recurring payouts to others, but now those other people have 0% and the group has 100%, however, the group is still receiving revenue from existing Private Server renewals like it only has 60%.

Unfortunately we had to deprioritize this, so we won’t have a fix out until next year. I’m going to close out the thread. Thanks again for the report!
