I’ve recently came across an issue where 5-6 minutes into launching a decently sized studio session and or ROBLOX game. The entirety of roblox studio/ROBLOX will freeze and THEN freeze my entire computer. This causes me to manually force shutdown the system to restore it. Every other program works fine and runs fine, as well as my DAW’s, Video Programs, and UE4 and Unity games.
This issue has been plaguing my Roblox Studio and it is severly hindering development time.
I’m currently running Roblox Player: 0.575.1.5750425
Here are my computer specs.
Processor/CPU: 3 GHz 10-Core Intel Xeon W
RAM: 64 GB 2666 MHz DDR4
Graphics/GPU: Radeon Pro Vega 64X 16 GB
macOSX: Catalina 10.15.7
Model: IMAC PRO (2017) Make: Summer 2020
From what I’m reading, it looks to be an issue with the METAL renderer on MacOSX Catalina 10.15.7 (AMD Graphics Units) when changing or manipulating screen resolution. However, this can also happen when in fullscreen and not have touched anything.
I am unable to generate any microprofiler stats or dmp files as the game crashes my entire computer.
The log files were sent privately to a Roblox Staff that attached them to the internal ticket, due to sensitive content!
Hi Panzer, can you clarify the issue you’re having - you mention Player several times, but also Studio. Is this an issue when launching/running Studio, or Player? The log you’ve sent indicates Player, so if its Studio we’ll need a log specifically from Studio (logs show up in the same place, so make sure to grab the one that has a “Studio” filename)
Hello! Thanks for the follow up but I’ve been figuring out what the cause of these issues were and I think it has evolved into something a little more serious. It seems to happen only in the game I’m developing for called Black Hawk Rescue Mission 5, mostly in our private test places and sometimes in the live branch.
I’ve attached a video of the problem occuring which seems to be a driver and or graphical issue with the ROBLOX PLAYER. This issue just recently came up and has been plaguing my development time.
I managed to capture a screen recording OF the roblox player meaning the issue is not related to my system/monitor and is an issue with the Player itself.

I have recently upgraded my system to Big Sur attempting to fix the issue to find it hadn’t been solved.
