Certain building models i upload create massive blotches of shadow,
Happens with this model every time
and only takes effect when you get close

I would have hoped shadowmap would have helped make this not be an issue, but that doesn’t seem to be the case

Are global shadows on and do you want them on?

This has happened to me before. I had to create a new place and put what I had made there. Let me know if that works.
I figured out your problem, your ambient is to dark so you need to make it closer to a white color, by doing this go into the lighting properties by clicking lighting, then find the Ambient and change it to a brighter color.

That did work, i had to turn the ambient way up past half. really changes the look of things :T
It’d still be better to have this fixed than have to work around a big though

Please do not mark a solution on bug threads unless the actual bug is fixed. Marking a workaround as solution may lead to this thread being overlooked in the future.

I feel like this may be a regression that was introduced recently.
Unions & MeshParts that had giant black splotches on them with Legacy didn’t have that problem with Voxel, ShadowMap, or Compatibility until recently.
Yeah I am pretty sure some update screwed it up or something
