Match indentation for pasted blocks of code

I don’t know much about text editors and the such, but if I ever paste a block of code in studio it’s super annoying how the next lines won’t match my indentation.

It would be cool if there was some sort of option for “smart indenting” or whatever you would call this.

Ooo. Me likey

Please. Make this happen… I beg of you.

To make this even worse is when you try to indent everything but the first line of what you pasted and intellisense thinks there’s something to autocomplete and pressing tab does nothing. You end up having to include the first line, then indent, and then delete the indent on the first pasted line.

Visual Studio does this.
Man this would be great in studio

This has apparently been in trello since may

Maybe they could also allow you to ident by highlighting all lines and pressing tab instead of having to do it individually.

I would love these two updates.

You can do that…

Shouldn’t be locked just because there’s a trello card. This thread can produce valuable discussion that can potentially change the contents of the Trello card or how the feature is implemented.

Good point!

I won’t lock this thread as the Trello card was simply unpopular, probably because not enough people knew of it. This thread could potentially show the idea is worth pursuing - or it could reflect the result of the Trello card.
