Material Manager's fill tool removes the highlight effect on instances

Reproduction Steps

  1. Add your object e.g. “Part” instance into “Workspace”.
  2. Add the “Highlight” instance into the “Part” instance.
  3. Open “Material Manager” and select a material e.g. “Asphalt”.
  4. Click on the “Use Material as Tool” / Fill tool: image
  5. Hover over the part with your cursor, then hover off.

Expected Behavior

Material Manager’s fill tool should not remove the original visual highlight effect of the instance after hovering off with your cursor.

Actual Behavior

Material Manager’s fill tool removes the original visual highlight effect of a part after hovering off with your cursor. The “Highlight” object does not get removed.

Workaround:

Selecting the part → press “Backspace” / remove the part → Ctrl+Z

Closing this because the specific “Use Material as Tool” tool doesn’t exist and I couldn’t reproduce it with the current “Apply to Selected Parts” tool. Please let me know if you think this is a mistake and we’ll reconsider.
