Do you think making the max zoom distance 50 is too little? Do you think max zoom distance affects how long and if users play a game?
My general philosophy is that zoom distance is game-dependent. If you’re making an FPS game, your obvious max zoom distance will be 0.5; however; if you’re making an RPG game (where different worlds are terrain based and already exist) - you might make the max zoom distance 50, in an attempt to obscure additional worlds from the user’s view. I did this with my game Achievement Unlocked.
At the end of the day your max zoom distance should reflect the style of game you’re going for, and if you have a purpose for it.
The reason is I have a small map kinda and I want it to feel big so I made max zoom small. Do you think that was a good idea?
For sure - as I said, if you have a reason for your zoom distance settings to be a certain way, then that’s all the confirmation you should need.
