A few months ago, I started this game that I didn’t think much about. I spent about 1k robux and left it because I didn’t want to continue the game. The game started to get a couple of hundred visits per day without advertising and it recently caught my attention. I changed the game to make it better and added some gamepasses so I can make some robux. Since the change, (which was 3 days ago) I have gotten around 2k visits daily without advertising along with a few sales. I was wondering how I can maximize my game’s potential without spending any robux.
Short answer:
Make a good game that people will want to continue playing!
Long(ish) answer:
Try to keep player retention up. This can be achieved by a daily reward system, a constant stream of updates, or in game events. Make it so people want to come back: and if they do, they will most likely tell their friends.
You can also advertise for free on other platforms like here, or a third party forum like Reddit or YouTube. Just try to get as many people talking as possible.
But as things usually go, if you make a fun game people will usually play it.
Really promotion I would say is more than making banner adverts and and campaigns. I would say it has to do more with your interaction with the players.
For example use social media. Twitter and YouTube are probably the most straightforward. You could even email some Content creators to play your game. They get content you get exposure.
Creating hype. You could probably try doing devlogs or post updates. Which creates hype ready for your games release or hype for the next update.
Probably the most important imo is getting players to stay. I think 100 players coming 10 times is better than 1000 players come once and leave. Creating something that will keep them coming back to the game would do that like daily rewards.
I might have made a mistake there since I am not am expert. I just speak from my experience.
That is incredible. Without advertising, your game must be very engaging. I would love to see your game.
