I’m an artist with just a year of experience and I use the DAW Auxy. I’ve been constantly changing parts of this track. I think it’s finished now. Enjoy.
Sounds good. As for the mastering, IMO the kick’s bass really overpowers @1:24 on my consumer grade ‘gaming’ headphones. You might want to take off maybe -2.2db at 28hz on the kicks if this is meant to be in a game, since as an audio engineer you have to consider all the ways people may be listening to the track while playing, wether it’s bass heavy gaming headphones or precise studio open-backs.
Other than that for just a standard song I thought this was pretty decently good. I really enjoyed the ducking and I think that was done quite well.
Thank you for the positive feedback! I always appreciate it :))))
I might be bumping this post for 2 years too late, but I’ll make my statement about the mastering. It is generally fine to mix it loud, but it may not be appropriate to use for soundtracking. You’d probably need to normalize it post-production, hahaha.
If you ask me about if the mix is fine, I can hear things perfectly fine with my pristinely new cans(headphones). Satisfying uses of technique makes up for it. However, I think the piano is a little too compressed to my liking which kills the dynamics a little.
