Memory Usage high on baseplate.. What?!

So I just recently made a testing place for me to test sound reverb on…
I added a Ragdoll Script, a Cloud System (Weather system), Time Cycle, Custom footsteps.

I test the game, open the Dev Console and see this:

1900 MB of memory usage.
I tried removing all of the scripts and parts, but it’s still very high.
I tried making the lighting to Voxel instead of future, didn’t help.

Even a fresh new baseplate sits at around 1700 MB of Memory Usage.
Is this normal?

Thanks.

  1. Studio uses more memory than in game.
  2. Roblox’s Core and Default scripts are created and run even on an empty baseplate.

It’s just studio overhead. Check in a running game and it will be less

Thank you both, didn’t know that that’s how Roblox Studio works!
