Mesh only visible from one angle

Hi, when I imported my hollow cylinder fbx mesh from blender I noticed that the hollow only was visible from the outside and not when I had the camera from the inside.

I know this has something to do with faces (and planes?).

So basically what I want is to make it completely visible from all sides, just like a normal brick in roblox studio.

Is there some kind of shortcut? Or a function?

Thanks

Hello there it would be better if their is an image but i think i can help you with this.
But if you go into Edit Mode and select the whole object (you can do this by pressing A) an than go to Mesh > Normals > Flip it will flip the normals and will be shown visible now when you import it to roblox studios.

Try applying a solidify modifier with 0 thickness. This should male it visible from all angles. Wrench tab and then add a solidify modifier, set thickness to 0.

Will it be visible from all angles then?

So in 3d graphics, to save computational power only 1 side of a face will be rendered, unless it has backface culling, but really in most cases there is no real need for backface culling. Anyway, when doing this, the rendering is done by the normals of the faces (the direction of the face in 3d space). So, you might be having an issue with the normals being messed up, which can happen pretty easily in Blender when doing things by hand. If you enter edit mode by pressing Tab, then select everything by pressing A, then use the key combination of Ctrl+n, this might fix your issue. This is supposed to make all normals consistent, and if its wrong it provides an option to flip the normals around.

You can tell by the shading of the faces if it worked. If the face will be rendered in Roblox, it should be a gray with a slight brownish tint in blender. If it won’t be rendered, it will be a darker gray with a bluish tint in blender.

Hi. Thank you for your long and wholesome answer.

But as it turns out I believe CTRL + N is not the shortcut for that function anymore. β€˜β€™

When I click CTRL + N, it shows this:

Picture cylinder faces

Its Alt+N

SADAS If you open the overlays, you can saw a face orientation option, tick that option to see if your normals are flipped (blue is ok and red is bad) if you flip and every part isnt blue ,you can use the solidify modifier to create another faces and make the object full blue

Just add a solidifier mod on the mesh and it should create a 3D cylinder.
