Hi,
Roblox image compression, yuck! I mean there isn’t much you can do about this, assuming you’re using blender you could use the knife tool and assign the colours to the individual faces through UV mapping which makes it infinitely sharper.
Hope this helps.
Is this how jailbreak handle there cars?
I am asking this myself. They are coloring it very good.
Me and my friend tried importing everything seperate. That means, car windows, car lights, and then the car model.
That way we could color each part individual but that didnt work out because we couldnt get the parts to be in the same position as in blender.
Any tipps on how to do smth like this?
What’s the size of the texture? Perhaps try something bigger than 500x500, like 1000x1000.
the pic size should be 1920x 1080 i believe
EDIT: just found out the pic is 300x 300. We’ll try higher resolution
Anything larger than 1024x1024 will be scaled down when you upload afaik, so go for 1024 as the largest dimension
Yes this is most likely how Jailbreak do their cars. Grab an any sized (up to 1024x1024) canvas and fill it with the colours you need. In blender in the UV tool select the faces you want to be a certain colour and within the blender UV mapping window make sure they’re within the set colour. In roblox this will look crisp!
I tried this recently but I got a very poor result, do you know why that might be? I mean it doesn’t need to look perfect but at the very least I want to get rid of these cracks in the paint and have the edges look a bit less fuzzy.
I apologize for bumping this back up even though it’s old, but this is a current issue for me and I’ve tried using what I learned in the comments of this post, but was left with the result I uploaded above.
Would you mind if you shared your UV map? (including what is allocated to what)
I actually hadn’t learned how to do UVs properly, until after posting that, but I figured it out, thanks for trying to help.
