Hi all, hope you can help, I’ve modelled a terrain in blender because, I want to use flat colours as textures and with roblox’s current terrain tools, this isn’t possible, and I’m having issues collision wise, I’ve ported the mesh as an FBX from blender to roblox, and the collision isn’t working correct.
I’ve had this issue multiple times, and usually splitting the mesh in blender and importing as separate parts fixes it, so I haven’t been fussed to report this issue, But with my terrain, its smooth and has some bumpy areas, walking down or up those bumpy areas, my collision will be really bad, the character practically walks on thin air as the collision isn’t precise enough, Is there any way around this or any plans to implement custom terrain textures? because it’s causing us to slow down on the game in which we wanted to release fairly soon, but we cannot whilst we have these issues, as you can tell from the photos I show you down below, you’ll see the terrain, and you’ll see the bugged collision, this is really confusing to work with I’ve tried everything I can in blender and also roblox itself.
I’ve tried changing the collision to Hull it still doesn’t fix anything which I didn’t expect it to fix it anyway, but this is really fustrating to work with and is slowing me down quite a lot, if anyone has any ideas on what I could do to avoid it then please let me know, I don’t really want to scrap the terrain and use something basic as it just won’t fit the style of game I’m working on.
Hope you can help!
If it was only one area, I wouldn’t mind as much, but its pretty much on every steep on the island mesh, I understand the collision works different in roblox and that it’s probably something that’s being considered, but is there any short term fix so it doesn’t slow our development progress down?
