Meshpart Essentials V1

A little something i’ve been working on to motivate developers to use meshes.

How to use:

  • Download the .blend file and open it (Blender required)
  • Right click the mesh you want to use.

  • Go to File → Export → FBX

  • Enable ‘‘Selected Objects’’ and set the scale to 0.01

  • Enjoy!

(If a mesh is not functioning or looking correctly please leave a note and i’ll fix it.)

If there are shapes or objects you would like to see next feel free to reply!

(Also everyone who reports a bug gets a free imaginary cookie!)

Wow, I never noticed the Scale option during export… I’ve been resizing the object(s) manually from the Properties menu this whole time.

Why not upload them all and make them free?

I would have to separately export and upload 40 meshes and with my lack of roblox studio knowledge something is bound to go horribly wrong.

All you do with the FBX file is go into studio, create a mesh part, and select the file in the properties.

i wouldn’t know what to do afterwards ><

It automatically uploads it as a mesh in your inventory and you can configure its settings on the page (similar to how you can configure models, shirts and pants).

So i have to export 40 seperate meshes, configure 40 seperate meshparts, make sure all 40 are moderated and then change all their settings to free? That would take hours!

you’d be doing gods work

But maybe people wouldn’t use 95% of the meshes in the pack :c

Exporting them all to studio, positioning them like the second picture, and uploading as a ROBLOX free model would make these readily available to everyone. But it would be a bit of work.

Any have UV maps?

Sadly, no. But i can change that if people really need it.

Anyway great set of meshes here.

I realized a lot of people liked the meshparts but didn’t want to go through the whole process of importing every single one of them using a program they are not familiar with.

So now you can get all the meshparts in one click!

Please let me know if you make something cool with it, have fun!

What you could also do, is upload each mesh as a model individually, then make a plugin that works like CSG Primitives  Just an idea, of course, but it would be pretty neat ^-^

Every meshpart is uploaded individually, so you could ungroup it and pick what you like.

Keep in mind i don’t script and i have no idea what a csg primitive is.

Ah, CSG Primitives is a plugin on the catalog. But perhaps you could ask someone to code a plugin for your meshes?
