Meshparts automatically named after mesh name

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to be organized and quick enough when using a multitude of meshes. When we import meshes, they are defaultly names “MeshPart.” This causes confusion when looking for them. Most of our games would take tens of hours to organize these meshparts by name.

By having a meshpart named after its mesh name upon import, it would be very helpful in organizing our games and making developing a whole lot more convenient.

As I frequently build entirely new character models, naming every single meshpart after importing when I’ve already named the files I’m importing is an unnecessary, tedious waste of time.

This would make my workflow much, much more efficient.

To clarify: When I insert a meshpart and attempt to upload a mesh directly to that meshpart in Studio, I want that meshpart to automatically be given the same name as the filename/assetname.

I can see this not being possible sometimes especially for filtered words.

Files that have inappropriate names don’t get uploaded iirc, or else the asset name is filtered. Just use the uploaded asset’s name instead of the filename, as that will have been filtered.

As instances in Studio however, names are nearly inconsequential because usually only you as a developer will see them. Team create is another story, but instance names already can’t be filtered, so it’s not like anything is different.
