Hi there! I’m working on a Metro de Santiago game including stations from Manuel Montt - Manquehue, featuring:
Train System
- Smooth acceleration, braking, and realistic sounds.
- Fully controllable train with keybinds (lights, horn, doors).
- Auto announcements per station.
NPC Passengers
- NPCs board and leave trains based on destinations. (very glitchy
)
- Use random outfits & tools, sit dynamically. I used a default noob character because they look funny haha!
Station TVs or Boards
- Show real-time time/date (Chile), next station, and arrival times (if there is any train available)
- Display fixed travel time to nearby stations (I calculated the time speed and the distance between stations)
Track Switching (WIP)
- Interchange lets the train reverse direction.
- Confirmation GUI and collision switching included.
Rail Signals
- Block system with red/green light logic using sensors (parts)
Extras
- I finished adding a control room, you can check the rail signal status, real time train positions, stop trains, and more!
- It took me 1 week modellating several train models because I didn’t like them…
- I also added workers uniform and a hard helment.
I made this game because when I went to Chile, I’ve never thought their metro system would be so well-developed! In Argentina, the trains and metro system were left behind.
