2. Switches and Junctions
Open to see the details
Controlling a switch at the moment is by pressing the Arrow located near it.
Below is an example on how it can look based on which direction is being set up.
Sometimes you have to change a switch to go to a specific Location, Such as DRISTOR 2 or ANGHEL SALIGNY. The Following 2 images show where to go based on the Location Mentioned.
EROILOR
NICOLAE GRIGORESCU 1
3. Reaching a terminus
Open to see the details
There are two type of Station Terminuses; one with the switch before the station, and another one after it.
If the switch is in front of the station and line 1 is free, then the train deviates to line 1 (line 2 if you are at Anghel Saligny).
If line 1 is busy, then stop there, the train stays on line 2 (left to AS).
If the switch is after the station, then the train deviates to line 1. if it stays on line 2 it would mean withdrawing the train from traffic (Exception is to Pantelimon Depot where there is a station, and Pipera where there is a siding) OR if line 1 is busy.
It stays for at least a minute (or more if there is already a train in front) so that the driver changes position, then enters the station, where he remains on line 1( If on Line 2, then deviate course to Line 1, check first if its clear).
4. Signalling
Open to see the details
Signals are another important part of MM. It is to ensure that Traffic can go smooth, and with no derail issues.
ATTENTION: THIS FEATURE IS STILL UNDER HEAVY WORK. THE FOLLOWING INFOR ARE ADVISED IF SOME LOCATIONS HAVE SIGNALLING.
Currently the Signalling system is in a continuous change, in order to respect the real system.
M1, M2 and M3 and equipped with ATP, dedicated to BM2/21
The system continuously checks the train’s speed if its in the permitted range, and can automatically stop the train in case of a signal block being occupied by someone else.
The Aspects for ATP Equipped Trains are:
-
Clear:
White Lunar and Red (RED+ATP)
-
Occupied:
Red Only (RED)
Since BM1 don’t have ATP Equipment, they are running on the default Signalling aspect set, with no ATP Safety at all.
The Aspects are:
-
Clear:
Green Only (GREEN)
-
Deviation:
Yellow Only (YELLOW)
-
Occupied
Red Only (RED)
ATTENTION: IF AHEAD IS RED+ATP, TRAINS NOT EQUIPED WITH ATP CANNOT GO FURTHER.(Currenlty ignore this rules as we do not have the code to stop anyone)
Visual Signalling:
Depots are just White Lunar.
Exception goes to visual signalling:
5. Indicators and others
Open to see the details
WIP
In Metro Mania, there are Signs and limts that must be respected in order for traffic flow to be alright.
I - SPEED INDICATORS
- 1.1 Speed Reduction Indicator
The indicator shows the speed limits, i.e. the portions of the line where the traffic speeds are permanently limited, due to curves, slopes or other causes and indicates the point where the driver must take measures to reduce the speed of the train, at the speed written on the indicator.
- 1.2 Speed indicator
The Maximum Speed in the network is 80 Km/h, but not all zones can cary that much.
Speed limits imply that ahead is required to wither slow down, or to accelerate.
These are advised:
-when deviating from one line to another, speed limit is 20-30km/h
-when maneuvering in depots, sidings, 5/15 km/h
II - MANEUVERING LIMITS
- 2.1 Maneuver Limit of the train
The “Maneuver Limit” indicator shows the place where a train can exit, in order to perform maneuvering movements.
The indicator consists of a rectangular plate of white color, with three horizontal blue stripes on both sides and is placed at a distance of 150m from the input / output signal, or at the same distance from the platform boundary ,or from a junction/diamond/switch or the limit of the track circuit if it is not mounted at the head of the platform.
Advised to limit your speed to 60km/h when passing them if approaching a station. If your speed limit is under 60, no need to rise to that.
- 2.2 Restriction Limit for IVAs
This Sign indicates that ahead there is no more signaling safety for the IVA Type trains, moving beyond this sign will lead to the deletion of the respective train.
Optionally, there can be an arrow sign indicating in what direction there is no safety.
Restricted Areas:
M1: Pantelimon-Nicolae Grigorescu 1
M2: C. Brancoveanu - Aviatorilor
M6: Pajura - Aeroport Otopeni
The Epochal IVA Pack allows you to go on the entire M1 (still until REPUBLICA, start from pantelimon for the entire route)
- 2.3 Indicator of the fixed stop/end of the line
This indicator shows the location where the line ends, ordering a full stop without passing it.
The indicator for the fixed stop consists of a rectangular panel where a red slot, where is mounted on the fixed stop of the end line in a station, depot, siding, or rebrusment, over the axe of the track.
Indicator of the fixed stop/end of the line
The indicator is preceded, by a signal in which its indication warns that the next indicator is ordering a full stop and imposing the lowering of the speed in order to assure a safe stop
- 2.4 Safety Mark
The safety mark limits the place where vehicles can stay on a track, without endangering those traveling on the neighboring track, or would affect their free passage gauge.
The safety mark consists of a concrete block or a rail painted white.
III. SIGNAL SIGNS
- 3.1 Warning indicator of the signals
The indicator, placed in the direction of travel, a signal, warning the driver that has to take action to stop the train next to the signal in the case it orders a full stop, or to reduce speed if the signal indicates deviation from the current line.
The indicator is formed of a rectangular plate, with a yellow background, red borders and a red diagonal, going from left up to down right
The indicator is placed approx… 150m before the signal.
IV. MOBILE INDICATORS
- 4.1 Indicators for weak track portion
To indicate the portions of weak tracks where speed restrictions are placed, the following mobile indicators are placed between the tracks:
(1) A square palette with a yellow background with the required speed in black, and a green palette, with white borders, placed behind it. This indicator is placed 120-150m before the restriction
(2) A square palette with a yellow background and black borders and cut diagonals, in the middle is the speed restriction in black. This indicator is placed right before the start of the weak tracks.
(3) A square palette, with a green background and white borders, indicating the return to the original speed limit. This indicator is placed 120-150m after the weak track portion.
- 4.2 Coverage of the weak track portions
The Mobile indicators to cover the weak tack portions, which impose speed restrictions in the current track or within the stations, are placed between the rails of the track, in the same way, both for traffic in the normal direction of traffic and for the opposite direction, as follows:
In the case of double , or multiple tracks, these indicators are mounted for each track with the weak portion, on both directions, as the image above presents.
In the case of multiple weak portions, with different speed restrictions, the indications for these are done with one speed restriction, along the length of both sections of weak portions, with the lowest speed.
V. STATION CLOCKS
There are two types found in the network:
- Global Clock: Indicates the local time, a literal clock.
- Last Departure Clock: Indicates the amount of time it passed since the last train departed/went trough the station.
Old Type:
Found on M1/3, M2
- Global Clock is shown in red, showing the hour and minute marks
- Last Departure Clock is shown in green, limited to 10 minutes, after that is locked to 0:00
Modernised clocks:
Found on M3 Nicolae grigorescu 2-Anghel Saligny
- Global Clock is shown in yellow, showing the hour, minute and second marks.
- Last Departure Clock is shown in red, limited to 60 minutes, after that it is locked to 59:59
Found on M4/6
- Global Clock is shown in red, showing the hour, minute and second marks.
- Last Departure Clock is shown in yellow, limited to 60 minutes, after that it is locked to 59:59
