Million visit game taken down for unfair reason, roblox responded with vague and unhelpful information

Hello all reading this, I’m posting here due to the fact at this point I’m desperate to get the attention of a staff member or someone who has the ability to help me. My game (soon? - Roblox) was taken down due to a model labeled “Spice Girl” from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, this particular model is seen in several games including a game that surpasses 100 million+ visits (Project JoJo - Roblox)

I’m posting this to ask if it was a valid reason to take down the game (as I can’t see how it possibly was). If not, how exactly do I get my game unlocked? The appeal staff have not been helpful and gave me rather vague answers despite my explanations, and at the end I was told to practically stop responding due to the fact they won’t and was “encouraged to re-read the conversation”.

The reason for this take down was it being a “sexual model”, I’m aware this likely isn’t the right place for this but I have no other options, my soon-to-be studio was hit incredibly hard by this and has de-motivated every developer on the team, as well as my player base being upset with us.

Thank you for reading and your possible help/replies.

I don’t think that people here can really help you other than sending you over to Support - Roblox but if as you say you already tried and that didn’t work I guess you could try and seek for help at the Developer Relations Team, even tho I am not sure if they’ll be able to help you much further than telling you to do a support request. But maybe it is worth a try. Link to Developer Engagement Team. Good luck hope it works out for you.

i dont think roblox would be happy seeing breast marks on a model, some people were banned for having that on certain assets

roblox moderation at its peak

You are right, I did not see that the first time looking at the picture, now that makes more sense.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with the chest though, and there’s, from what I’ve seen, 5-6 as popular games as my own with this same model and then Project JoJo which had averaged 2-3k at one point of time, as well as currently having over 100 million visits. So I’m confused why my game was targeted rather than these far larger games.

Thank you for the link, I’ll try it when I get the time.

The problem is Roblox doesn’t allow any refrence at all to having a chest as that already breaks their Community Standards.

So I’m confused why my game was targeted rather than these far larger games.

I don’t think you can really call this targeted, someone just got a proper report through and Roblox Safety Staff saw it and banned it. On the other games I guess they were blind? No idea.

Could you reference which section has the whole “no chest” thing, I read it yesterday and didn’t find anything related to this, though I may of skimmed over it which is why I don’t recall it.

I don’t think they specifically mention this directly but I can imagine it falls under the category which disallows everything that could in some way be used sexually. This includes chest shading, butt shading, abs, etc. as all of these could in a way be used on a nude avatar that’s why it’s all banned.

So even the fact that it’s innocent (and not shaded, in case that matters) Roblox doesn’t care, merely because it’s still there? If that’s the case I hope Roblox learns in the future because this is outrageous…

I guess it’s more about the fact that the chest shading could be used as it’s own item to depict nudity, this causing the chest shading to be removed from the website. I have seen a bunch of shirts with that kind of stuff get banned so this wouldn’t be something new. I guess you could still try to appeal and remove or redesign the character model so that it would be inside Roblox Community Standards.

I offered that as a solution and was met with the classic “we can’t revoke the suspension due to how it’s set up”, Roblox has proved completely unreliable in this situation unfortunately… I’ll make an attempt at using the link you supplied, thank you for your help.

Update, game is back up and running thanks to the Developer Engagement Team!

Some people predicted bans like yours to happen. A rogue moderator notices breast definition in your model, decal, mesh or any other creation, doesn’t think twice and bans you for it.

Even though there are plenty of instances where Roblox themselves allowed and or showcased breast definition (see below), incompetency and arbitrary moderation runs rampant on this shit platform. I am glad to see your problem is resolved by the @DevEngagementTeam

Too bad that the vast majority of Developers do not possess the necessary contacts to be able to reason themselves out of a moderation instance and as such, are left to convince a support agent located in the Third World who knows jack about Roblox.
