Hey everyone!
So I am new to 3d Modeling and am unsure of what the community norm is for assembling models made in blender. In essence, I am making a little stand for cups, lids and sugar shakers etc in blender right now. Obviously, this model is made up of a lot of different parts that could be their own models, such as the sugar shaker. The model in blender as is is pictured below.
Would it be more standard to model these items such as the sugar shaker in a different blender file then import to studio and move these different meshes together to form my desired item? Or is it better to import the entire desired model as a single mesh? Sorry if this is a confusing question, happy to clarify!
Thanks!
I think it depends on your use case. If you are wanting each element of the model to be interacted with, or being able to tweak its position, orientation, etc in roblox, you would need to export each object individually. Some objects like the cups or plates could be exported once and duplicated within roblox.
If it is just a static object or background prop, export it all as one. This could make model streaming quicker, probably negligible, but still might be valuable to some. It also just keeps the game simpler with less individual models, etc.

I’m not entirely sure if this is what you mean but, you can import all models at once to roblox studio, if they’re separated (sugar shaker) it will still be separated when imported to studio with it’s location, export as .fbx.
To do so, you’ve got to use the asset manager on roblox which allows you to bulk import from blender.
RoBuilder has a vide about this: Bulk Import Tutorial
I hope this is what you mean, otherwise this wouldn’t be useful, haha.
