Where It happened: Roblox Marketplace
Reproduction Steps:
Upload the audio to Roblox Marketplace and granted a Universe ID access to the audio.
Played the audio inside of a game and it played perfectly.
I checked hours later and the audio was moderated for violation of the Terms of Service.
Description: I am currently uploading audios to roblox for my game and I found that one of my audios were deleted for violation of TOS but there’s nothing wrong with my audio and now I have wasted two audio uploads and was wondering what’s wrong with the audio or if I can retrieve the two uploads? I’ve seen other games with the same audio and they were not moderated, the moderated audio is below.
Expected Behavior: The audio is supposed to be playing inside of my game. Actual Behavior: The audio cannot play.
Sometimes our systems take some time to detect copyrighted audio which can lead to them being taken down some time after uploading. Could you please provide the asset id of the audio files you have uploaded so I could take a look?
Looking into this audio I see that it was moderated about 2 minutes after its was uploaded because it was detected to be a part of the track A Cup of Tea by Danny Elfman. Please make sure you own the rights to the audio or have a license to use it before uploading.
I would suggest reading the Creator Terms of the Roblox TOS section 5.b.vi and related sections to learn more about which types of audio you are allowed to upload to Roblox.
Don’t think so - moderated audio uploads count towards your limit. In the future, you can appeal these moderation infractions via Roblox support… I’m not sure why this bug report was even approved
No since these uploads used moderation resources and the decision made was correct they will count against your upload limit. You can appeal this with Roblox Support if you think this was an incorrect moderation.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find a way to directly link the section. It is 5.b.vi in the Creator Terms in the bottom half of the page. I have updated my original message to hopefully make this more clear. The section I wanted to reference was:
Representations & Warranties. If Creator uploads, synchronizes, or otherwise uses a sound recording and/or Musical Work, Creator represents and warrants that (a) Creator possesses all necessary rights needed to upload, synchronize, and otherwise use the sound recording(s) and/or the Musical Work(s) on the Services; (b) Creator fully owns and administers the worldwide rights in/to the sound recording(s) and/or the Musical Work(s) uploaded on the Services; and (c) that such sound recording(s) and/or Musical Work(s) are completely original and that the Publishing, upload, distribution, and use of such sound recording(s) and/or Musical Work(s) on the Services will not infringe upon the rights of any third party, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or any other intellectual property rights (including, without limitation, a PRO, a record label, a music publisher, or a union or guild).
