Moderation Feedback Category

Maybe we can get a category on the forums to voice our opinions and concerns when it comes to how Roblox deals with the moderation of UGC or well specifically the lack thereof. It comes as no surprise that when there are numerous amount of opinions floating around in the moderation team that the same situation can be moderated in several different ways. A a way to achieve equality among them is to remove that opinion from the equation by substituting it with guidelines. Obviously since there’s still a lot of feedback coming through that a lot of players feel that they’re being unnecessarily punished by moderation means that the guidelines that exist (if there is any) can still be improved upon.

There’s all of these categories on the dev forums asking for, and listening to feedback. But when it comes down to the important stuff we’re expected to not have an opinion. We’re expected to bottle it up and not have any proper outlets that doesn’t impose an unprofessional look upon ourselves to discuss it. As it stands, if it doesn’t equate to financial gain, if we have any issues with our accounts because of something we did, or a bug in the platform it’s completely possible to get locked out of and lose our account, only to eventually be able to have a random hacker get in and cause it to get deleted. We’re supposed to be responsible for that. But the platform won’t accept the responsibility of being the cause of being locked out in the first place.

In my opinion Roblox is a community first platform. If we have any problems we should turn to the community for help, and hope a staff member or someone with the adequate power and responsibility just so happens to see it. For a platform with 100 Million concurrent users, is this the vision Roblox had in mind for customer support? Are we not customers? Are we not users?

Just what are we to the platform? Am I #379,535 or am I T0ny?

I would agree to this, but usually categories like this will lead to people complaining about moderation actions being unfair and it’ll end up being a rant category rather than a constructive feedback category, and some moderation actions aren’t meant to be public; as much as this would help, it would end up harming a lot more.

I thought about this as well, but honestly It couldn’t be any worse than the public collaboration category in its present state even after the PSA made by BuildThomas. I imagine it would work something like development discussions with a combination of the PSA inside of Public Collaboration. Basically the discussion should remain on topic to those who have had issues with similar reports. Like the game moderation process, how it impacts them, what they wish to improve out of it etc.

While I think the rules in these topics will be pretty strict to begin with. It’s better than not having any outlet as it stands.

Except we do; appeals@roblox.com and devrelations@roblox.com. I don’t feel like being able to publicly post your moderation actions and complain about them would help anything.

That’s true. I was thinking more so of bringing awareness to the pain points of this current process. But if those are the communication channels to change the process and the process still isn’t changing. Then you’re probably right.
