Recently there has been a major rewrite to the forum rules. While I have no issue with the new rules, moderators are still both making the same mistakes and quoting the outdated rules. Here’s an example (of which I have cropped most of the message to avoid this becoming a “complaining about a moderation action” post)
The message in question was made in Development Discussion, a currently private category. Moreover, I did not use “sexual” or “directed” language, though that is not relevant as it’s not the suggested rule offense. And the rule, while still applying after the rewrite, is the outdated version.
I understand shifting internal systems is not instantaneous, however more care should be taken to train and provide adequate tools for situations where your ability to access a useful development tool is at risk.
And yes, I understand there’s a common consensus of “just don’t swear” even by Roblox’s own engineers. If moderation is not accurately representing the guidelines of the forum, that is a problem. Removing the ability to swear is a band-aid on a larger issue.
