NOTE from OP: This post is inspired by Why don't staff listen to feature requests?
I have been on the Roblox Developer Forum for more than 4 years to seek help regarding Roblox development. It is a great space where creators can assist one another. However, as of now, I feel the forum that most of us rely on needs many improvements to become more organized and clean, such as reducing duplicated topics and adding more categories. Some of these improvements are crucial and can enhance the UX (User Experience) for new forum members. That being said, when we have suggestions, we use #forum-help:forum-features to share how many tools could be “upgraded” or suggest new ones to improve everyone’s workflow.
However, I’ve noticed that responses to feature requests are inconsistent. Even when they reach the team managing the forum, it seems that only one person provides feedback and makes the final decision on whether a suggestion is necessary. This process has been ongoing for years without much change.
As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to accept this. I genuinely believe that relying on a single person to make yes-or-no decisions based solely on their perspective limits the opportunity for other employees to review and understand the broader vision behind our suggestions. This situation can be frustrating and, at times, makes me reconsider whether to keep active in the forum.
I believe that a plausible potential solution would be for the team to create surveys through the #roblox-surveys category to gather and analyze our feedback as we continue to use the DevForum. These surveys can be conducted monthly, and both the results and the replies should be carefully considered by the team as a whole.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience using the forum because it would allow a better understanding of how we, as developers, use the product (the forum), provide insight into how we feel about recently implemented features, and offer a more transparent feedback loop. This would enable the team to gather and act on valuable input to improve the experience for all developers.
